Since market is not expecting a rate cut, I guess surprise is only a cut and the following upside. In case of no cut, do you expect a major down-move?
I don't expect any thing on any day ;) as i'm reaction fellow :D :D .only thing is, there will be huge candle @ 11 clock...so waiting for that time ..if there is a setup i will trade after 11 clock ,otherwise NTD...

That's great..but one curious query (since you are an 'old-timer' :D ), if we are expecting a sudden move (say 100 points in NF), is it wise to put SLM orders (both long and short) at a width of say 30 points from the current price?

It's like buying a straddle, but committing only after the move happens. I haven't done this, but I have no clue about the slippage that might happen when such a fast move happens.

The reason I have posted this is that , I myself have lost a great deal of money in taking such bets.

So just trying to warn you,is it not better to wait for a clear trend and then trade?:D
Point taken

Meanwhile, Adani Ports is cracking a bit....have a look at the chart, since NF is doing nothing, so trying to make some bucks in stocks

The moves on such news event days are volatile and it is very difficult to catch volatility in which markets may swing both ways....

Today I dont expect any big move either side.So buying a straddle may not be a good idea as premiums will drop after the announcement.
