I did not buy 6800 puts though I had mentioned that if someone wants to make it fully hedged then 6800 puts can be bought,x qty.

ST sir, when ever you get time,please answer regarding today's situation:
Nifty opened gap down, by third 5min candle, it showed signs of filling the gap, now most of the scripts also opened gap down, many broke to the upside (broke their opening price by third candle, also assume they were down yesterday afternoon also) by third candle, still nifty and the scripts in question are trading below ema20.
Now my question is should we be looking at longs (in scripts) even when the index as such is trading below ema20?
Or
Should we wait and look for failures/shorting oppertunities instead.
My apologies if the question looks too naive.

Unless there is a good trade set up , dont trade out of boredom or out of need for some excitement. We trade for earning returns on our capital, for excitement go for a movie or some amusement park or water park...

This need for some trade continuously comes when a trader is a marginal profitability trader he has to trade continuously for living whether or not there is a good trade. But if one is making large profits on successful trades , there is no such need. Imagine if one has made 200-300 points profit already and if there is no trade in next 3 hours, it wont matter at all...but when the good set up comes, you must grab that and enter into a trade without worrying about whether that trade is a winner or a loser.

I was reading some trading book on Trend Trading yesterday and the book says that if you have a system with a trading edge, make that edge manifest itself by taking as many trades as possible on that system. Something similar to Casinos make their edge to manifest.

The above for few people who are afraid of pulling the trigger and take a trade even when the system triggers a trade....their thinking is " let us wait and see"....

Yes arsh, so a trader has to continuously think what he can do to take a trade on small stops and make much larger profits out of them.....this thinking is much more profitable than systems jumping.....and it can be done...

There was a belief that swing trades need larger stops, overnight gaps...but there are ways to overcome these and trader has to think in those terms....
