Mediocre is what I should aim for as of now ....

Thanks Sir. I am really happy to get these figures from a veteran you. And you said all this is possible with some mechanical systems. Thats great Sir, thanks again for your reply.

What I am capturing from all these posts is that if I can survive for first 5 years, I can make good career in trading. Now, I am looking for some mechanical system to make 1200 pts per year.

Your post says Super Trader system, whats that sir? Is it Super Trend? Any other system for this performance?
I had read about that somewhere...but net is full of such systems and AFLs. Do some search and you will get your destination. But such systems have a very low hit rate and it is difficult to trade such systems with faith particularly in system's losing period.

If you get one, tell other members also as many are struggling here...

I was just looking at performance of a mech trading system.....it has a great equity curve.....but on closer view I found that it has some losses of 15-25 % per trade.....one really needs rich( and foolish) father-in-law to trade such system..:D Cannot even think of touching such great systems...wont disclose the name...

Real story of rich father in law :

When I was starting as a struggling trader, we had formed a group...each moth everyone will contribute Rs 500 and we used to get trading and MM books from USA,UK through someone going there....

One of us was continuously making large losses and his family was disturbed...his father-in-law was a big textile tycoon and he was coming from London so we told him to get one trading book saying that we will pay the cost in INR....

F-I-L arrived and we checked up with him that he had bought the book costing some Rs 5000.....our trader friend was missing for last few days....we went to father -in- law's row house to collect the book and making a payment to him....father in law asked " what do you all do ?" we said we trade.....he brought the brand new book and put it on the ground in his backyard and put petrol on it and burnt the book in front of our eyes...

He later on told us that he supported our friend's losses but the losses were continuous and our friend started torturing his wife out of frustration of trading losses.....he said I dont want similar thing to happen to your families and that is why I am not giving the book to you , I am burning it in front of your eyes....

We have no right to disturb our wife and kids as they have done nothing wrong...it was an eye opener for all of us....

Very basic question - don't laugh @ me

- What's called mechanical system - my understanding is anything that
is not automated is mechanical i.e. all of us are doing mechanical trading
only

- What are the systems being discussed here called - like
- vpl/vph,
- pratap's method
- SH 315 method
and other's

know its basic dummies question - but still asking for clarification and learning

100 % mechanical system is just take all trades on the system logic or AFL without using our brain.

All other systems are semi mechanical ...but VPL/VPH and Pratap's method I will classify in semi mechanical because you need to use your brain for taking profits, deciding whether you are in trends or sideways markets etc

I think mechanical system is the one in which buy/sell arrow is generated, and we punch the order, according to signals generated.
automated = order placement by software, no human involvement.
