How is long build-up and short-build-up defined ? Why is the build-up LONG in some case and SHORT in other case ?
For every buyer, there is a seller . So , how is it said that the build-up is long/short :confused:

Assuming that only the deep pocket instituions write options and they write both calls and puts , why is their writing taken as long build-up in some case and short build-up in other case ?

It is only presumption.if market goes up it is said long are there if not it is said shorts.there is no definite formula to find exactly.

I did read abt it long back, don remember the source.

eg. nifty
if nifty closed +ve and OI change in a level is also +ve = long build up;
if nifty = +ve, OI change is -ve = short covering;

if nifty = -ve, OI change is +ve = short build up;
if nifty = -ve , OI change is -ve = long liquidation,

Guys, please confirm the below issue.

I went LONG on SILVER Micro at 37872, with a SL at 37820. After my entry is triggered, price fell to 37851 and then boomed to 38100. It has not come to 37820. Atleast my chart does not confirm so. But my SL is hit and my position is sold at 37820, where as chart does not show any tail coming to 37820..

Is this really possible ? Or Is it something fishy done by my broker ??
bro, some ticks moves so fast that it is not registered in charts. zerodha replied to ankur's query abt the same, few weeks back.
:lol::lol::(:mad::mad:
bro same thing happened for me in crude but that was a matter for 5 points.
Due to high volatility in silver not all the ticks are recorded in brokers chart.

For every long , there is a short and vice versa. What matters is who is chasing the price and who is more desperate, bulls or bears.... Generally when bulls are chasing the price higher, we call it long build-up...and reverse is a short build up....
