Dear ptk,

For Tax saving I invest in Reliance Tax Saver ( ELSS) Fund and HDFC Tax Saver.

For normal investments I invest in the following funds :

1) HDFC Midcap opportunities Fund,

2) Fraklin India Bluechip Fund

3) Birla Sunlife Top 100 fund

4) Birla Sunlife Long Term Advantage Fund

One can invest in any fund which has given more than 15-18 % CAGR for last 8-10 years.More time in the funds is much more effective than timing the investments in the fund.

I invest a fixed amount in mutual funds every month. Let us say it is X then when Sensex falls by 500 points, I buy 1/3 X , Then next day I will see if it falls further, if it does, I will invest another 1/3 X ......and so on till I finish X...then next lots buying in next month. Suppose the index does not fall during the month by 500 points , then invest full X amount on last day of the month. Wait for dips to buy for next months lots...so on and so forth....basically trying to buy in dips instead of buying on a fixed date ( as in SIP) ....

Dear Smart_trade sir,

very nice info. Thanks a lot.

One more question is how do we buy online? i.e through some broker / trading platform or any website from where we can buy whatever fund we are interested in?

It is very easy. Select the fund and register for online purchase with the fund house, they will give you Log in ID, Password, IPIN and all it takes is some verification call from them and max 2-3 days..

Here you can invest on line and make payments from Net Banking from the designated banks..if you invest before 3:00 pm of any day you get NAV of that day and by 3:00 we get idea whether markets are down on that day.We get receipt and accounts statement online.

You can have Direct investment without going through any broker which will give you better NAV....you can mention broker's code if you want to go through a broker...

My Interactive Brokers charts now give me Feb series charts continuously but when I was trading with Investbulls charts giving F1, F2 etc for short tern I used to note down pivots levels for 2-3 days atleast...normally that is sufficient...for swing you may have to go 1 week back...

Thanks ,but it seems we need to have a trading/Demat account with them for getting a data Feed ,Or they separately provide data feed for AMIBROKER?
They dont give data feed as a data company.. They give data feeds to their trading terminals only and they have an official plug-in utility which feeds that data to Amibroker. So data is only for their traders/investors....

Not worth opening new trading account with IB only for data....they have some entry critaria and minimum brokerage critaria.
