General Trading Chat

NF is falling but IV data is bullish. So went short and trailed aggressively.Stop hit early in last down move so missed all the action.Would have have been great day otherwise.Still a normal profitable day for me.Tomorrow if Gapdown then a trend day possible.Monthly range is still 250 odd points only.

ST sir, its regarding today's nifty chart and the trades i took and queries thereof:

Trade 1: the first trade i took was at breakdown of morning range (marked by crosshair) shorted below 7768. It failed, and as soon it closed back within range, i covered at 7776 before it hit the SL.
Question 1: was it a legitimate trade, as it was a breakdown (failed finally) of morning range but with in yesterday's range?

Trade 2: short at break of yesterday's low, at 7754, this candle broke both today's and yesterday's low, it failed again, I covered at 7763.
Question 2: as the break down was failing, first the price closed back in yesterday's range and then with in today's morning range, where should i have got out (after realising that it is a failure)? the moment it closed back in yesterday's range and the high of the candle was taken or should have waited till it closed within morning range (as i did)?

Trade 3:long over 7770 pivot and covered at 7800
Question 3: It it ok?

Trade 4: I didnt take
Question 4: should one have entered short below 7791

Thanks

My short answers to the above questions:

1) First trade was correct. The high opening price was immediately rejected,so look to short. It was possible to short below 7785 or 7780 and cover near 7750.

2) Next upmove and down moves are volatility without any trend and pivots. Such moves can be traded on 15 AMA bands or Close below/above 21 MA or VWAP bands with VAL/VAH ...just have a look at these, they cought these moves beautifully.

Hi Vivek

St Da will give you proper reply..
according to my understanding, there is no entry in morning, as we are in sideways..1 short entry was break of 11:35 candle..

so instead of 1& 2 trade of urs..I would have taken this entry..

3 & 4 was ok..as 3 is contra trade ..vpl failure & erl failure trade..& we got very good entry at break of 2:10 pivot with trend
thanks
