Right now the IPv4 setting is to obtain an IP address automatically and obtain a DNS automatically.. Do I need to change only DNS server to 8.8.8.8 ? What about the alternate DNS ?

Yes.
I keep alternate empty, previously used to keep OpenDNS. But google is 100% reliable so not needed. Google alternate dns ip is 8.8.4.4

With google public DNS server also its not fixed, Globaldatafeed is out of reach again. Other recharging sites too are failing on billdesk page only.
