General Trading Chat

Hi all,

Please help me with my todays trade. I took a good entry on this chart arounf 128 then price broke out of Day high and retest the support and on second retest fall below the intermediate support of 129 taking away my trailing SL and then moved raidly ahead without me. I am very frustrated please help if my TSL was too conservative? should I taken a reentry around 129.5?

The entire position was supposed to be a BTST trade...He had to sell one of his flats later on to meet the payment requirements & he still refuses to accept that he was wrong... 'Ego' killed and still kills many traders and investors...
They say that there are very few "Old and Bold" traders...he has proved to be a bold trader...now he will get old before he recovers his loss....:D

On a serious note, failed trading position should never be converted into long term holding.

SL runs trigger SL's... They are used to shake out weak hands and at obvious points..... Does not matter if stopped out, if the chart is bullish or turns bullish after being stopped, one needs to re-enter. This is very important, as otherwise the market will have a run away rally... and watching it on the sideline, can be not only frustrating, but mentally and emotionally damaging....

Just my view...

From your entry to 1:40 high there is no mpl, so you can't trail your SL that way, but in vertical moves SL can be trailed previous 2bar low. You would have been stopped out that way also but you could have reentered after it bounced of the EMA.
In order to trail it to just below consolidation low, the 1:40 high needed to break (which it did).
By the way your entry was very aggressive that too below (EMA) can you share why you entered there?
