There's been a lot of discussion/comments about the new RBI governor, most of them in favor of Urjit Patel.
My take is - soon his background etc. won't matter, nor will the papers/reports that he has written. What will eventually matter is how much of his own man he is. He certainly is not cast in "My name is Raghuram Rajan and I do what I do" mould. A lot of pressure comes with post, not the least the political pressure.
