Ok then you do a SIP of Rs 50,000..pm...the question is howmany young traders can afford 50 K SIP per month...and if they cannot afford is not doing anything the solution ? If not 50,000 start with 10,000 atleast..

Buy Land if u could keep it safe.. probably the best investment ...if u cant then equity is the way to go..
Yes i definitely agree, for long term equity investment is the way to go.
on real estate if it is for investment, you have an ill-liquid asset, plus you have to pay tax on capital gains tax when you sell, plus regular maintenance charges.

if you compare this with equity, it has tax free over long period, most liquid asset class and no other cost involved.

only thing is you need to select right stocks for investment. ideally in last 10 years, many stocks have given 100 percent returns annually taken cumulatively.:)

In SIP do they charge yearly fund management charges? I once took one ICICI plan (not SIP) with 3year lock in period. Ist year they deducted 18% from my principle amount then 9% (next year) and then 4.5% in third year.

i shared a story here where i mentioned about someone who bought a piece a land for 50k in 2000 and sold it for 26 lakhs in 2014...Just like equites..land comes with its shares of problems... if we could manage it..its all good... diversify the capital ..enjoy the life and while u are at it...plant some trees too :D

Yes I was ignorant, (not that I am any expert now :)), but that was 13years ago (unfortunately I am not an MBA like you, those days I was in 2nd year of my MS surgery).
That's the reason I keep on troubling you, but you are kind enough to oblige me every time .
Thanks
