Many tax evaders and corrupt politicians and Govt babus when raided were found to be having lots of black money in cash in the form of high denomination currency notes...they then use this cash for buying property,Gold etc...see any tax raids and its findings.

I can understand a small portion of "corrupt" peoples's black money maybe in cash.

But to keep ALL/MOST of your black money in cash is just plain stupid. These are the people you hear in the news who commit suicide - small fish if you may.

But the country faces a bigger threat from the people who are crooked and smart - People with gold bars in their lockers, multiple land and real estate posessions, Swiss bank and Cayman island accounts.

ButI think, the move is mainly a part of the ongoing economic war with our neighbours.
