Hi Experts,

Could someone give a link/document to study important candlestick patterns.

I searched in web, but there are too many patterns and im not sure which are the important ones used in both intra-day & swing.

Thanks
Just use the Wikipedia link, it clear and well defined.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candlestick_pattern

Some simple patterns are the same, but named differently based on their position like hammer and hanging man etc.
8-10 patterns are sufficient (incl reps).

Candlestick patterns are alone not enough to trade. They should be looked at support and resistance.

All candlestick pattern are nothing but reversal pts.

V - hammer, bullish engulfing, Piercing, Bullish harami, morning star.

Inverted V - shooting star, bearish engulfing, piercing, bearish harami, evening star.

I don't give much importance to them. Start with Saint sir thread, Then read thoughts on day trading part1/part2.

You can find those thread pdf in my signature too.

Also combine the volume of the candle to know its weightage and look for confirmation on higher TF.
Eg. 3 soldiers or 2 back crows would be a tall bar on higher TF etc

Demonetisation is history! If you have the money, buy into this market: Rakesh Jhunjhunwala

|| Was not RJ said demonetization is a good thing? When the 2017 looks full of turmoil how can he give a call like that? RJ is fast losing my respect. He should not be this mindlessly bullish on India. There is nothing "special" or "unique" about Indian economy. It is just growing at 5-6% like other economies.||
