BNF 25600 should be crossed, but will it hold?
It crossed 25600 on Banknifty and stayed there very well :)

Entered long at 10 AM and exited at 3.10 PM.
My target for BankNifty is 25700 on BankNifty (by 9-Nov-17) and 10,550 for Nifty (30-Nov-17).

Not sure by EOD, whether combo13 gave a different signal ( did it change to buy signal?) .

Anyone having experience in using bracket orders ? I am thinking of experimenting with them for trades in options if my entry is 100 SL 97 [3 points] i will put profit target at 3:1 ratio [9 points] & 3 point trail to ensure risk management.

My question are as follows :-
  • Has anyone incorporated them in their strategy execution ? If so how have been the results ?
  • The trail order is SL-M or SL-Limit ?
  • Can we enter using buy SL limit for breakouts with them or we have to enter using limit order only ?

I don't know about other Brokers bcos many dont have CO/BO but on Zerodha they execute only as Limit orders, NOT SL orders. That means you have to buy low and sell high which doesn't suite most of the time as per my trading system.
[Even when I want to buy dips, I buy on the way up(after a visual bottom) not down, so this is still a problem & opp. for shorts. ]

Although I think I've read somewhere that RKSV or another one was planning to or has implemented SL based CO/BO but all this is old info as I've given up on them
.
I'm pretty sure that the exit legs for CO/BO are Mkt orders but some1 else can concur this.
And for ur 1st question, if you want to trail with BO, u'd need a very strong system to identify how much u'll trail with so that u don't get whipped n therefore I trail manually.

Are you trying this on Nifty or Banknifty or stock options?
just 3 point trail looks risky. I've seen bid-ask for Banknifty options with Rs 5 difference. Market order would hurt.

Also you are dependent on Brokers/NSE system of stop loss. My personal experience is that it is not really reliable, if its not SL-M.

But maybe things have changed now as my experience is over a year old. You can try it and let us know how it goes.
