Congress legislator Nitesh Rane, the younger son of former Maharashtra chief minister Narayan Rane, and his supporters, was arrested on Thursday on charges of abusing, and poured muddy water on an engineer of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), over the poor condition of the Mumbai-Goa highway, at Kankavli in the coastal Sindhudurg district, on Thursday. The engineer was later tied to the bridge with a rope.

wouldn't that mean only top 10 Rich people from the district will exert power? Whole point of hiding income from taxman is to avoid getting all limelight otherwise even though these people are millionaire (in usd terms) they are living frugal life

Just naming monuments after them does not give them any government power, just recognition of their contribution to the tax kitty. Maybe it should not be restricted to Income Tax only.
