Getting Nifty on Quotetracker !!

Hi whyLately,

I am requesting this forum to slove my problem from Quote Traker (QT) software (Free unregistered) version 3.9.5.

Few days back I downloaded QT_3.9.5 and installed in my PC. Installation was carried as per installation guide for NSE India Real time (free) & software was working fine till 21-09-09. I am able get RT quotes & Intraday charts with backfills for all stockes added in main panel.

From to-day (22-09-09) morning onwards, QT is not fetching quotes for stocks listed where as I am getting indices of Nifty & updating in Indices panel at frequent intervals.

Fetching failure notification seen & I did webupdate but no improvement. Update result : All files up to date.

Green light point L1 is seen at Bottom left corner with commentsn (when taking mouse nearer to this point) "NSE India real-Time (free) Server: 210.210.18.108, Level:1, Sub:4, Status: Logged In/Connected

Then uninstalled & re-installed but problem remain same.

Kindly help & advise me how to correct this problem. Indicated below system information copied from "Help"> "About Quote tracker" window for your reference.

Keerthi, NSE had changed some key parts of their site this weekend. As a result, QT was not able to fetch quotes for equities today. QT has revised the NSE fetch configuration.

Do a Web Update. You should see new NSE related files. Download and restart QT. See recent posts in this thread.

quotetracker is no longer free as of sept 21

QT has released an uodate to NSE source today.
Perform webupdate and include the NSEIndia files.

After this, it must work, as is the case for me, thanks to WL for this info.

There was a query on getting nifty charts in QT.

While getting through Yahoo/Bloomberg is an option, a better one may be:

QT >> Options >> DataSource / Proxy settings >> Indices and select NSEIndia(Free) as the Index quote source. Select the indices you wish to include. (May select ALL the available ones, if bandwidth is not a limitation for you. This will show the selected indices on the top 'INDICES' panel.

Now, typein 'NIFTY' as if it is a stock along other stocks in a portfolio window.
dowble clicking will get you the chart for nifty.

1) Perform webupdate, as just yesterday, NSEIndia code was changed by QT.
2) Data source for stocks and Indices is NSEIndia only.
3) The indices can be updated at 15 sec interval, so it is 'almost' live.
4) I have not availed any backfill facility for getting the chart, it was live!

Probably, if you perform webupdate now, everything may be ok.

As you know yesterday we were not getting the data during the day and it was only in the evening after the webupdate I got the eod data But your pic shows 15 min chart for the entire day. Could you please answer my previous request.

Hi Mr.Murthymsr,

After webupdate & restart, QT is working fine from 22-09-09 evening.

I noticed another issue in my QT. I am not able to Backfill datas for Intraday charts for 23-09-09 but getting for Hist. Charts. QT software is active from morning to evening.

I am not able to get "NSE India (free)" in Site drop down menu in Backfill window (Option>Data Source/Proxy setting>Backfill) where as I am getting "NSE India (free)" in "Quotes" and "Hist. Backfill" windows.

Kindly guide me to overcome this problem.

Requesting Forum members also for their help.
