Re: 60min Flow Trades for the Week: Saint's Method

DID NOT GO LONG COZ CLOSING NEGATED THE BREAKOUT...

the breakout bar you are talking about took the PH+F which was 2792+f ....
how did you know the breakout bar will be negated .... either this the tweak you follow all the time .. that whenever the SAR is hit you wait for the next bar to co confirm the breakout ....

Re: 60min Flow Trades for the Week: Saint's Method

Neeraj,

Very interesting observation. Now let us get down to modus operandi. You see, our SAR is already in the system. When such sharp downfall occurs it will hit our SAR and new position (say short) will be opened. Then after seeing the close (of that bar) and judging that it is a false alarm - we manually change over to long at market price at the time when we realise our situation?? Is that the way we go about??
Thanks

Re: 60min Flow Trades for the Week: Saint's Method

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS AS FINAL TRADES 4 D WEEK....this is open 4 discussion....please let seniors comment on dis view..... :)-)

on 2nd feb we had a gap down opening....the 1st 5 min bar was same as our sl 2 bars back on 30 jan....we shorted below 2815 - f....

den on 3 feb we had a gap up opening...which also formed a ph....b/w 2-3 p.m. our sl of 2797 +f was taken out......but soon after it hit the SAR .. it started to come down drastically....negating the whole upmove....and negating the whole breakout....

i have witnessed in some other instruments like gold for eg. that we generally 1ce in a blue moon witness false breakouts which take out our filters too......but by giving a weak closing it it alarms us.....this is where MOVING FILTER concept shoots inn......

here is 1 more recent eg. i witnessed....which i hav posted in comm. trading thread....

a very recent example of closing below sar imp levels is stated below....

i hav tried dis couple of times in gold....after backtesting gold found dis whipsaw a few times...witnessed it here too so thought of posting....

these whipsaws are quite pathetic....they r not worth 100 pts loss :(....which is big money......

out of ur experience please comment on dis thing ....

thank u

Hello,

Here is the tweak that I use. I just see there are sufficient bars. For me no. of bars = 2.
i.e. Break-out could happen after congestion then it is easy to spot pivot. But say if it is like 03.02.2009 or 27.01.2009 (shown in chart), then I take pivot 2 bars back.
Just sharing my tweak.

Cheers...

Re: 60min Flow Trades for the Week: Saint's Method

guyss this is a very unique situation....u don confuse urself with this all the time.....it occurs 1ce in a while.....the above charts r self explanatory....but just a little observation u understand dis.....

u just revert back to the original position and use a moving filter now....as simple as that......do sum backtesting u will understand....whenever we reverse the position .. most of the times closing of d bar is above the SAR point....or atleast strong closing in our direction......but the bar dat i spoke about above just reversed after hitting our SAR....so it had no conviction for reversing.....it was not obvious to reverse there.....

u shud b able to understand candlesticks and price movements to understand dis situation...its a more aggressive situation....

matter of big money so agressivness is required sometimes but not all d times......

Re: Live discussion Saint's - 60 minute flow

srini,

U put up a chart on 3rd at 2.35 PM...post#1032, saying that 3 PM Bar is WRB and good candidate for reversing after 3 PM, if tide reverses.

Saint duly appreciated ur keen eye in post#1033.

Again Saint acknowledged that it was a valid reversal point, in post#1056,1057,1058.

Now your chart tells that you did not reverse on that day.

My head is reeling. :D

I am sure everyone will come up with tonnes of justifications.

I feel one thing for sure, that there is no place in this Flow method for a simple head.

Pls no offence meant to any one, only trying to accept my limitations. :D:D

Cheers

Dear pakatil
Only wrong thing is i posted early before completion of bar.after completion it has retraced half the way.
but saint has told it is a wrb whether it has long wick or not.
The general thing was to trade with saints rules, but i mostly see only pivot even if there is a huge wrb .
But strictly i take decision on wrb on only 2-3 days good movement from our positions, not like this wrb in sideways move of 2-3 days.(simply to say wrb reversals only on good 2-3 days movement).((( all my Views)))

another thing is the end result my trade would be same as reversal on that wrb(3 pm).

3 pm wrb was one amongst all wrb's in those 2-3 days.more wrbs,so less consideration for that wrb reversal.simple.

And last one view, saint has told many time to keep the system as simple as possible.so simply look only pivot, use wrb 2 bar at rare cases.

regards
srini :)
