12 noon bar has made higher PL and 13:00 bar has now made higher high than 12 noon bar. Should we consider 11:00 bar low as PL?

No clear up move or down move, Considering this as sideways movement, i think we should get our stops to 4248-15 = 4233.

Update: Saint already answered as a "no" to this.

Why can't we take 4246 as Pivot?

I understand from your msg that Visual Pivot is not yet formed.

But, I am simply checking each bar values and defining Pivots. What is missing from my side?

4246 could have been considered pivot only if nifty would have moved up in next bars crossing todays high.

Just my understanding..


Edit: Can not be considered at all now as we have moved much below that, so we have to wait for valid pivot low now.

10.00 low was 4261.05
11.00 low was 4246
12.00 low was 4252

in the above case, can we take 4246 as pivot?

Move of lows or highs in themselves alone do not dictate whether we for a pivot high or low.... to put it simply, a pivot is a point on chart where the trend changes..from up to down OR from down to up.
There are a lot of charts posted on this thread by Saint, Satya and others with clearly marked pivots. Going through them once again will clear all your doubts.

Yes, as per your explanation above and then if the 1 PM bar would have moved up closing above 4300(high of day), then I think you can consider 4246 as pivot.

Seniors please clarify.
