Ah dear RK i think i am not clear what i was saying ..... when that BIG GAP happened then every bodys eye was near 3800 pivot we formed long back may be on july and clearly took support at that level ...... i m not saying about that pivot which formed on 18th

Daily Chart attached

Forgive me members a bit off topic if it will create confusion will delete the post after RK reads it

Satya, if that be the case the low of 18th September becomes a visual Pivot on the daily charts only after we end the day on 19th!!!! if not 20thSep.
Can we deduce that the low of 18th is a Pivot on 18th evening!!!?? Dont think so!!!!
Our perception would change if the next day opened down!!! So we know that the price took support at the pivot only after the right side of chart was formed!!!
Satya, with my limited knowledge of TA, my view is that because we see it taking support we call it a pivot, it does not take support because the level is a Pivot!!! I may be totally wrong on this count!! Just a layman's view!! :)

Please do post your views on this!!!!

Can anybody confirm whether LT longs have been triggerred or not. When the market opened after sun outage the high price hit was 2620 as per NSE data but intraday charts are not showing that .

Satya, no, absolutely no reason to apologise.
You've made an interesting point, and frankly, I did not take your use of the term pivots as being support/resistance areas. Quite often gaps in either direction are arrested at points we would have traded if not for the gaps.

For those who feel tempted to tweak the heck out of this system at gaps, there certainly lies an opportunity.

Great going!

BTW any pivots on the lower side today so far? :)

Amit.
