Rishi I'm too trying to trade gold mcx.
11571 was the last hourly pivot low.
At what Rate did you short today ?

how did you get 11571 pivot low? I am confused here...btw, I am short since yesterday....

Beauty of saint sir's method is its very simple.No need to have any state of art software friend.If one has a trained eye yahuu charts r enough to judge where key pivots r, n more seasonal trader can even judge pivots by concentrating on tape , thats what old timer greats use to do in 20's 30's era of non technology.
LOLL ok we r not reach to that level at least i am not.So go on any free software available on net as quotetracker or fchart s. Will be ok with u, If u post in software section you will gt more response.

I am doing the same. I use ***** chart for this 60 min flow trade. I am not a very seasoned trader though, but am comfortable looking at ***** chart. I have started using this strategy only for a couple of days and its working out great!

I was really hoping someone dares to trade Gold !!! Great job and great efforts. Will it be feasible to start a fresh thread for it? It will be great for people who just want to have a look at Gold and also people who are not interested in gold as the hourly thread will become a bit confusing if all instruments are mixed up here.

commodity trading in India starts at 10:00am and ends at 11:30pm or so...but some Indian food commodities close around 4 or 5...but world commodities like gold, crude, copper, etc.. trade into midnight...

Europe is missing ???whhhhhhhhhhhhhhat!!!

Europe mkt is open between at 8.00 to 16.30 GMT (i.e. 13.30 to 22.00 IST) which covers DAX/FTSE/ CAC / EUROSTOXX ...
US mkt is open between 14.30 to 21 GMT (i.e. 2000 to 4.30 IST) covers DOW, NASDAQ, S&P, RUSSEL indexes.

US Index futures mkt is open for 15min extra after SPOT is closed i.e. till 21.15 GMT. Ofcouse they are open round the clock on Globex session but show very poor volume between 21.15 GMT till next day 1430 GMT.

i am just going through chart of yesterday's nifty chart.if we look at 30 min bars of 2.00 pm & 3.00 pm ,both bar's low is 3096 & 3100 ... in today's circumstances can't we consider this as a pivot ?

I know saint don't use 30 min bars but we just want to get the area at which prices gets support & in this case it is area around 3100 where prices gets support yesterday ..so when today prices broke down the 3100 area , it broke its support & we can reverse at that point

i may be entirely wrong in all this as but just searching for something which can reverse me with market .I still remember saint's word to rakesh on 5 th nov as saint said ,'Don't remain helpless and watch on the sidelines as market dumps."

I agree with you,vineet,3:00 pm bar yesterday (10-11-08) on 30 min has given us a clear PL at 3100. But we are not looking at 30 min bar anymore due to the confusions we had and known to you. These days we trade pivots on 60 min only.

But if you are comfortable,then no harm trading the way we used to trade earlier.Atleast you could have booked the position at a better place,and reversed on 60 min pivot. Saint has asked us to be aggressive and not remain helpless observer if we can handle it without any confusion.

You could have booked profits on a trendline break and a subsequent crack of 3100,on 2 bars rule and also the fact that we had 8 hourly bars with HH,HL formation. Number of combinations were possible today.
