Does 2726 low qualifty as higher L and hence SL ?
only if the present bar, which ends at 2.pm, doesn't go below 2726.

seniors correct me if I am wrong.

Satya,
I think trading daily charts with weekly perspective is delivery based and we only play uptrends and stay away from downtrend. Flow method is only with 60 mins and 30 mins. My understanding!
Pattel, you mean in this method you only go long and take delivery of shares and sell off when pivot breaks not the other way around.

sir, can't we take short positions in futures or options? so, I think we can trade both sides. not long only.

Going through saint's notes looks like we can even go short in futures, but for deliveries we stay away from any downtrend. From Saints "Teach a man..." notes

We buy in an uptrend. We could buy the breakout from a sideways consolidation phase, we
could buy the declines within an uptrend but in an uptrend, in anticipation of a certain level, we NEVER NEVER SHORT. The mind
must be educated to understand that one does not short in an uptrend.
We short in a downtrend (plz, I know that certain things are not possible in the Indian mkts, obviously one can do only what one is
allowed to do. One could short using derivatives, or stay out and wait for an uptrend). In a downtrend, we get a sideways
consolidation phase, we short the breakdown. We could also short a rally within that downtrend. When we get a rally in a downtrend,
we could capitalise on that move on a smaller time frame by going long. But in that larger time frame, we are looking to SHORT. We
are not looking to guess bottoms, we are not looking to anticipate certain areas from where we are going to bounce upwards, we
SHORT every rally ina downtrend till that downtrend no more is one and we get a Trend Reversal to the Upside.

That means we can go short using derivatives in a down trend and not in a uptrend and vice versa. Now, we are in a medium term down trend. so, we should avoid going long. whether in cash or derivatives. but we can go short in what ever way possible.

This is what I understood from the above quote.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you for the quote.

Satya I have been thinking of many ideas but still find that the use of first 15 min. pivot as stoploss keeps us out of most False Breakouts but sometimes we even get washed out of True Breakouts.

Frankly speaking recognizing False breakouts is somewhat of an art along with Gut feeling, most of the times when my feeling was that I should get out it prove to be right.

Another thing that I have observed is that suppose we have a break of Pivot low in an uptrend and the bar which has broken turns out to be a Long hammer, chances are that 95% times this breakout is False and we should immediately reverse back to original position and vice versa for Downtrend.

Would like to have some other ideas from you and all other members
Thanks yes it happens some time but we can have our stop below the break out bars in some case in this process we may lose some points but it works some time ....

Even if two pivots formed very near say 20/30 point difference i tend to use two pivot highs as a pivot area and buy above upper band + filter

Regards
Satya
