Re: Live discussion Saint's - 60 minute flow

I see today's 11'o bar as PL. We have 11'o bar followed by 2 inside bars and a breakdown.

I see the pattern that formed today around 11'o is similar to 4(c).

This is the reply from saint regarding pivot formation in 4(c).
A few things:No confirmed pivot on (2)............and (4c) is a pivot break to the down unless protected by our filter.(5c)....once again, depends if it broke past our filter.

Yep on the others.... Saint

Please let me know your views why we should n't consider 11'o bar as PL.
Kiran we cannot keep on getting out at every consolidation, we have to keep stoplosses at our previous pivots and wait patiently for new one to form.

In this case 11 am bar doesnt qualify as Pivot because there were just 3 bars in pattern, had we remained at the same price for 4-5 bars and then tried to breakout, the consolidation low could have been called pivot. Not here because we were simply putting a decline in Uptrend, prices should have challenged highs if not taken out. But that was not the case hhere

Hi prabhjeetrana

if that is the case, can you please refer to the pattern on Dec 1 NF 12 pm bar and tell me how that qualified as a pl bar?? Was it because it challenged the previous high and failed to take it and subseuent bar also failed to clear it??

please help me on this??

Thanks

Let me try and explain. Prabh and many others including me see the situation as he has described. Some are following very aggressive pivots. Today's prices did breach yesterday's high marginally and then came down. For people following aggressive strategy this is a pivot no doubt. But some people like me, Prabh, Satya and others hold on to their previous SARs till a very clear pivot emerges. Now how to define a very clear pivot is hard. I take shelter of Saint's description -- see the flow from across the room and visualise -- the answer should jump out. In case of doubts hold on to your previous SAR. Personally in times like this when NF is very volatile a laid back approach is a desirable ( at least for me) until and unless you have added heavily on your way up as per the rules and want to protect your profits - then you can go aggressive. Some are following the price movement very closely, for them hour to hour bars count. Please go thru the mother thread you will see what I am saying, all this we have traversed earlier.

At the risk of another 'pivot war' - I see agressive pivots as those where you need to resort to 30m to see them clearly. Chart spent 4 bars in case of this PL. Only lacking was it crossing the previous high, but don't think that is a really hard and fast requirement. Morale of the story - I took it as a pivot break and reversed. With SGX NF falling today, it may be an ADD at the break of 5m low for those who reversed yesterday. However, notice that 60m has formed a rising channel.
