Re: Intraday Miniflow Trades for Today: Saint's Method

Posting today's (13-01-2009) nifty futures miniflow trades.

First 5 min bar 2760 /2735

1) Long trade triggered at 2760 + large mov f in 10:30 bar.

2) Add triggered at 2781 + add f

3) Market came down and again made multiple attempts of a rally. It was trying to break 2780-90 range decisively for 3 bars of 30 min each putting us on alert. Finally in 2:00 bar,the battle was decided in favour of bears when the low of sideways movement was cracked. We reversed to short below 2757 less small f

4) 2 Adds at the crack of PL at 2747-f and 2730-f

5) Book 1/3 profit at 2720-2700 range and balance as per indivisual convenience.

Best Wishes,

Re: Intraday Miniflow Trades for Today: Saint's Method

ST...just one hypothetical query

..if we saw minutely the upthrust came at 11.59....if it came at 12.01 then we have two 30min bar with same high at 2793...can we take it as pivot then ...what happen afterwards will totally different thing but my focus is at that point...

hope i am clear in my query

Vineet,

Visualising two bars of near equal high and breakout happening in the next bar but will be difficult to visualise it as pivot unless the second bar
low is broken in the next bar before the upward breakout. For treating it as a Pivot high we need some evidence that the flow had changed to down from that point anw we will get that only if the low of earlier bar is taken out before subsequent upward breakout.

At best can term it as sideways movement but for reversing above high of sideways movement I prefer one more bar atleast in the same range before breakout.

Hope I am able to communicate my reasoning correctly as I see it.:)

Thanx ST for the answer ..basically your today's trade helped a lot ..

i will now take care that atleast 3 bar should be there as sideways movement for considering as pivot...

one more thing if the today's 1.00 bar doesn't take high of 12.30 bar ,then will we still reverse at low of 1.00 bar low ?

thanx & regards

Answer to your supplementary question ,vineet:)

Todays 1:00 bar taking out high of 12:30 bar or not is immeterial . I would have preffered 1:30 bar or 2:00 bar taking out the high of its respective previous bars before breakdown to consider the low as a definate PL instead of 3 bars or more sideways movement PL.
