Re: Intraday Miniflow Trades for Today: Saint's Method

Some of our friends did not have a great day in miniflow today. Todays miniflow was to be traded differently listening to what the market was telling us. I am posting the NF chart below :

Upto 11:30 bar, there was no trade but till 11:30 it was clear that the first move was up. At crack of 11:30 bars low - small pivot, short trade was triggered.

The market sold off and we were happy in our short position,in 12:30 bar it made a new low, lower than the morning low and yesterdays low.

Now friends here comes the decider. The Dow was down 300 points and we opened just 40 points down. Not a good market action. Then after opening we had a 2 hrs upmove, again mkt is telling us that it is not predisposed to go down.

At 12:30 bar when the lows were broken,we expected a follow through and market to tank. But market reversed this breakdown and again came above 2875-2885 range which it falsely broke. This was a final call from the market that it JUST DOES NOT WANT TO GO DOWN. We still decided to give some more rope to it,but when the high of 12:30 bar was taken out, market was begging to be bought and we reversed. This was the best move of the day.

We had one add and booked 1/3 profits. The last bar showed good traction so we remained long till the end and then at the end liquidated the balance position.

A great day if one listens to what market is saying . Intraday trading is not about just following a few rules. It is also a great deal about listening to what market is saying......

Best Wishes,

Dear ST,
Thanks for your analysis. "Intraday trading is not about just following a few rules. It is also a great deal about listening to what market is saying."These are golden words and we must listen to market.

Re: Intraday Miniflow Trades for Today: Saint's Method

yes ST, your brakedown failure is perfect...i would even reverse at 1.00 bar high..

just one query. i didn't understand your add point..i think it should be at pivot high of 11.30 bar

Hi vineet,

Look at 1:30 bar, it is a doji (gravestone ) with along upper tail. I was expecting market to reverse to a downmove but market absorbed all the selling and took out a high of this bar. This was an indication of strength and an add point for me.

But yes you are right, adding on pivot high of 11:30 bar also was a great add point.

Re: Intraday Miniflow Trades for Today: Saint's Method

Sorry i dont have chart access right now so borrowing NC'S chart..above chart is of 3rd feb. 12 pm bar which was a failed break out bar but i didnt see any one go long above the high of this bar, but y.day we took failed bo bar and got long above its high... what was the difference between two market conditions ?
The two cases are exactly opposite to each other,Alex.I dont see breakout failure in 12:00 bar . But there was a breakout failure in 2:30 bar. If this one you have in mind, the two cases are opposite.

On 3rd Feb we had a breakout to the upside (2:30 bar)which failed so the action there would be go short.

On 11 th Feb (yesterday) it was a breakdown on downside, failed and the right action was to reverse our short position and go long.

Enjoy !!!

Dont bang your head vvvv. MY trigger price was 2871 and it got triggered. The price I got was exactly 2871. :)
There must have been some mistake as the low for yesterday was 2871.15, unless you are talking about MINIFTY. And if trading MINIFTY, try using slightly bigger filter as compared to NIFTY.

Huge difference,Alex......the absence of pivots on the 3rd is one,it all happening in one clean sweep is another.........That bar is not a breakdn bar,and therefore the next bar not a failure bar.Just a V pattern in progress.

Need some pivot or congestion to break down from to qualify as a breakdn bar.

Alex,

More on the Feb3rd pattern........the exact entry to long was 2766+f,before where the chart represents....the area where we have timeframe convergence.

So,yes on the earlier entry......not because of the breakdn bar failure.
