Re: Saint's Intraday Miniflow - live discussion

Thats why I wanted to clarify this. Move 2 is fine, but I am in confusion whether (at 11:30) the long entry should be on the first bar (10 a.m.) + f or the latest bar (11:30 a.m.) + f.

My understanding is that it should be at day high + f since no pivot formed till 11:30. Obviously something wrong with my understanding. Please see this post from Saint Sir: (post 2882 on this thread):

Yes,my friend, you had asked me the same once or twice before........ no harm done.Great going.

Saint
You are right arm.... my understanding about move 1 and move 2 was wrong.Discussed this point with saint sir. I will prepare a note on the points explained by Saint sir and post it here. Will do it tomorow morning...too tired now. But good you brought this point as it helped in removing my misunderstanding :)

Re: Saint's Intraday Miniflow - live discussion

ST,

Thanks. I have a doubt about two more situations too.

1.

Suppose we have an entry (or a SAR) based on a pivot (say 2800) at (2800 + 7). Now market takes out the pivot, but does not hit trigger. In this example say the price goes to 2803 and then that bar completes. Then the entry/SAR should be updated to 2803 + 7. Many times I have seen in live thread that people leave it at 2800 + 7 only.

This was discussed in post 2986 on this thread.

2.

A WRB at the end of a trend. Say if we are long and there is a WRB on high volumes at then end of an uptrend, followed by a bearish bar. Without bothering about the size of the bearish bar should we exit our position at that bearish bar low -f. I mean exit not reverse. Reversal at the WRB low - f.

This was discussed on post 7400 on the mother thread.

Will be very grateful if you clarify these.

Regards
arm.

Re: Saint's Intraday Miniflow - live discussion

Dear edgernorben,
First I will suggest you to go through Main Thread very thoroughly. If you want all rules in nutshell, please mail me your email Id, I will send it to you so that it will shorten your learning curve. One more thigh, we are trading 30 min chart ( not 20 min or 15 min). We are taking help of 15/20 min chart along with 60 min chart to confirm our decisions.

Regarding Todays Trade, let me explain it to you step by step as per my understanding. ST Sir, please correct me wherever I am wrong.
Here I have used 14 as Moving Filter , 7 as Reversal Filter or Small filter and 5as Add filter

10.00 : H-2620 , L-2604

Long 2620+14 = 2634 , Short- 2604-14=2590

10.30 : H-2611 , L-2594
This bar didn't take out our MF on either side and the bar made Lh-LL hence we will again apply MF filter for short (2594-14) and for long (2611+14). Here I have applied MF to long side also as first move is not yet clear.

11.00 : H-2595 , L-2585
Again didn't take out our MF on either side. hence for short we will apply MF again ( 2585-14) and for long I have treated it as first move hence applied SF/rev Filter over it (2595+7)

11.30 : H-2597, L-2588
Not taking out our filters on either side hence for short, still MF applied and it is (2585-14) but as I treated first move as convincing first move I have applied SF over 2597+7 =2604. I applied it on this bar as I treated it as limp move. also this bar is a inverted hammer with tiny 15 min pivot.

12.00 : H-2610, L-2589
Long triggered at this bar at 2604. SAR at 11.00 bar low-7 (2585-7)

12.30 : H-2603 , L-2583. Doing nothing. Didn't hit our SAR hence still long. Now we have got a clear pivot high on 30 TF ( 12.00 bar High) hence we will apply add over this pivot + Add filter ( 2610+5) .For those for whom long didn't triggered due to MF / larger filter on second move at 12.00 bar, they are looking for to go long above this pivot high + SF(7)

13.00 : H- 2606 , L -2585. Doing nothing

13.30 : H-2626, L-2597 . Add triggered for those who are already long and those who were not long before, they are long now. As this is a pivot breakout bar we bring our SAR to this bar low-rev. Filter(2597-7). Add over this bar high + add filter ( 2626+5=2631) because it is a WRB.

14.00 : H-2637, L- 2618 .Add triggered. Part profit booking (1/3 of initial position ) done here in between 2625-2635 range.(We book part profit when we reach the target equal to our initial risk)

14.30 : H-2633, L-2620 . Now we bring our SARto 14.00 bar low - rev filter (2618-7) as the14.00 WRB/ and (continoius upwrd movement bar by bar) get negated by more than 50%.

15.00 : H-2626, L-2613 Doing nothing. ( now we treat our previous SAR as STOP. we will not reverse the trade after 3.00 as it is closing time.)

15.30 : H-2626, L-2584, In this bar our STOPS hit and we are out of all positions.

Hope this explanation will help you to some extent to understand the system.

Thanks
Manoj
I never expected such a detailed explaination, thank u very very much, I am humbled by the kind efforts, my email would be xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Points of doubt that remains 1. the thought behind the 1st move and 2nd move
the 2. point of target equal toour initial risk was explained by ST

ONCE AGAIN thank you

Yes to point No 1 above ,arm, we move it bar by bar (as against pivot by pivot in 60 min ) .The idea is to have a strong, clean sweep break and not a limping, doubtful break.

Point No 2, ..... WRB signifies strength. How do you know that it is the end of trend ? Trends will very rarely end with WRB. It most of the times ends with small up and down bars. So WRB and 1-2 small resting bars... no need to liquidate the position as the trend is expected to go further in direction of WRB and you dont want to get off in the strong trend. But large immediate resting bar which closes at 50% or more of Bullish WRB or 2-3 down bars and WRB lows being threatened.... cause for worry.

Best wishes,

Part of discussion with Saint sir on move 1,move 2.......

saint sir: actually st........the move 1,2 concept does not come in to play here
saint sir: imagine a first down bar
Smart Trade : yes
saint sir : and then small up bars
saint sir : maybe 2
Smart Trade : yes
saint sir : and then another down bar
Smart Trade : yes
saint sir : foll by two up bars
Smart Trade : hmm
saint sir : we have ourselves a trend
saint sir : lower pivot highs and lows
saint sir : we call this move 1
Smart Trade : ok
saint sir : as we have ourselves a trend
saint sir : meaning
saint sir : that all through out this trend
Smart Trade : higher pivots you mean ?
saint sir : our movfil kept us out
Smart Trade : yes
saint sir : then when we get a previous pivot break
saint sir : we add normal filters
saint sir : take for example today
saint sir : Bar 1 bearish
saint sir : Bar 2 bearish
Smart : yes
Smart Trade : yes
saint sir : not taking out our movfil
Smart Trade : yes
saint sir : bar 3 bearish with tail....not taking out our movfil
Smart Trade : yes
saint sir : bar 4 mild bull candle
Smart Trade : yes
saint sir : we dont have a move yet
saint sir : we havent had pivots yet
Smart Trade : yes
saint sir : bar 5 is bullish
saint sir : entry long is still at 10am bar high
Smart Trade : ok
saint sir : so far nothing
saint sir : bar 6 fell again
Smart Trade : s
saint sir: we now have a move 1
saint sir : bar 7 is bullish
saint sir : long entry at high of bar 5 + small filters
Smart Trade : yes once pivot is defined then it is all the way P +small f
saint sir : yes
Smart Trade : ok
saint sir : of course today if you didnt take out any profits.......then a mildly negative to flat day

Smart Trade : ok clear now

Reproduced above so that we get it from the teacher himself....I cannot explain better than that.....

HI MANOJ
A very lucid explanation indeed
I have preserved it in a small word doc that i am preparing for the past few days.
