Re: Saint's Intraday Miniflow - live discussion

Hi ST,
I have doubt regarding MM for MiniFlow traders. On some of the occasions like what we witnessed after the election results, WRBs created because of volatility in the market. But as a intraday mini flow trader how can we manage our MM in that type of situation?

Like, take an example of Nifty, the first 5 min candle itself is WRB, then the second went below the first WRB so we triggered the trade according our rules with filter value and now I want to put the SAR above the WRB (HOD+F). WRB range itself is 100+ pts and according to my MM, I can risk only 2% for a trade.

In the above case, where can I put the SAR levels, is it according to our MM or above WRB?

Please give me your valuable suggestions...

SAR has to be put at an important chart point like WRB high, pivot high, breakout bar high etc and not as what our mm allows...it is true that large volatility has large stoplosses but then we should trade smaller quantity as per our MM.

If we are unable to take minimum lot size quantity in our MM limits,it is best to pass the trade and wait for a trade with better stops as per our MM.
In volatile markets small quantity you trade will make same amount of profit /loss as you were making earlier with low volatility and larger quantities.....the risk per trade should be kept constant and should not increase with increase in volatility.

Best wishes,

Thank you very much for providing chart, showing buy an sell positions. It helped a lot to understand.:)
Thanx
Thanks for posting the charts vineet, well done...

It may be seen that here we reverse our position to short at cracking of breakout bar's low on breakout failure even though breakout bar is not a WRB because the breakout was out of 5 sideways bars consolidation...

Sreeny,

At any point in time all your open positions must be in control of your MM.
No relaxation in MM.

In such an case, you may lower your lots or trade in mini nifty if that is not possible, Keep away from that trade and wait for pivots to form or look for an entry as per the rules but on a later time(some times you get the same entry point at a later tiem with a near by SAR). Or if these are not possible, keep away from the trade...after all you are only loosing a trade not your capital.

Always remember...relaxation of your MM will make your existence as a trader in uncertain.

Update: Hmm ST sir always here for instant replies now a days...
