In today's NF long trade , at 3.25 pm ,you have raised stops to 3426-7 .
This could not be understood. This was allright if 4 bar rule on 15 min was being followed. But we are supposed to be with 30min bars isn,t .
Subsequently after 3.45 a clean pivot formed on 30 min at 3468 because of which our stops should have been 3468-7 .
Please do clarify. Nothing like learning on the Job rather than with old charts.

You have misunderstood the language posted by Saint, i say this becoz that was the impression I also got, when I read it again It became clear to me..

Saint has used the 4 bar method in 30 minutes TF only!!! 10AM, 10.30AM 11AM, 11.30AM and after the break the 12.30 AM bar in 30 min.TF all are making lower lows!!!! total 5 bars in all, i.e 4 subsequent bars after opening hence 2 bar rule was applied!!!
Frankly I am yet to come to grips with the 2 bar rule , but this is what was meant by Saint!!!

I found today's 30 min chart to be quite action-packed, and nearly had all the concepts covered...
longs, shorts, pivots, shifting of SAR, 4 bar rule, adds, part-booking of profits, etc

I have posted today's trade with chart at Asish Da's INTRADAY NIFTY TRADING SET-UPS (LIBRARY) thread for the same reason.

I felt that all of Saint Sir's teachings should be at one thread, where ONLY setups/rules are mentioned.... for live trades, clearing of doubts, etc, this thread is anyway available & suitable...

I hope that you all realise that this separation is for our own mutual benefit... newbies & experienced, alike. In this 2500+ post thread, it would be quite a task for a newcomer to search for relevant rules/exceptions...

If i have missed any rule/exception, please mention it.

Saint, A small query, maybe it is already answered by you, but do take the trouble to do it again!!! OR friends if anyone can direct me to the post where Saint has clarified this query :

As today, we have 3 consecutive lower high, lower low bars. The next bar makes a lower low and is still in the process of completion, i.e. it is not yet completely formed. So we have this 4th unfinished bar giving us a consecutive 4 bars with LH and LL.
My query : Do we shift our SAR to previous 2 bars high as soon as the current bar breaches the previous bar's low OR we wait for this bar to complete before shifting our SAR!!!!
Have read it at a number of places where after 4 consecutive bars the SL is shifted to 2 previous bars high but not clear whether we allow the current bar to end or do it as soon as the low is broken!!!

This what I did.

I waited for 4 Bars to complete. Moved SAR to 2nd Bar High - 7. Waited for 5th Bar to complete. Checked for any Pivot formation on 20 Min Chart. Didn't find any. Hence Moved SAR to 3rd Bar - 7, which got triggered by 6th Bar.

Hope this is right.

On completion of 4th bar......till the 4h bar is fully formed,stop losses are at day's high(taking shorts) + room.From the 5th bar,every low is your signal to bring stops to the high of 2 bars back.

To reiterate:Bar 1,Bar 2 LH-LL,stop above Bar1,Bar 3 LH-LL,stop above Bar 1,Bar 4LH-LL,stop above Bar 2,Bar 5 LH-LL,stop above Bar 3..........till the 4th bar is completed,no playing around with the stops unless we get a pivot on lower time frames.

oh i wasnt aware of that sir, we actually moving our sar from bar 1 to bar 2 after completion of bar 4 ? ( as i was in the assumption of bar 1 + room is our sar till 4 red bars complete and after 5 th bar we directly shift to bar 3 as sar ) and after forming bar 5 with new low we moved our sar to bar 3 ?

also i hv a confusion at 11.20 we have a sun outage brk, so my chart showing completion of 30 min bar at 11.30 ( where as actual 30 min bar must be complete at 10 min after sun outage break ) and second 30 min bar couplets at 12 pm shall i consider them in chart as i dont know how to configure software
p.s. i tried to post my MM along with charts but some problem in software
