1st Nifty (weekly) Closing Below 4,000 Since May 2007........

Nifty closed many times below 4000 in July this year itself.

sorry.I didn't noticed the weekly closing info. May be you are correct.

In todays trade if you see the 15 min TF, bars ending at 10.45, 12.15, 12.30, 2.15, 2.30, aren't all these pivots. Why did we not reverse? What is the rule applicable here?

Hi VPS,

We are trading 30 min bar here,and where did you get 15 min TF ? Saint has talked about 20 min to be used in exceptional case such as pivots on 30 not very clearly visible,a long tail formed in 30, a very steep reverse move and 30 pivot not in site etc.In all normal circumstances we look at 30 only.Dont look at 15 every now and then.

Pivots mentioned by you at 12.15,2.15 and 2.30 are not pivots even on 15 min charts.We will not use pivots on 20 min when 30 min chart is clear and trade 30 min only.

Hi VPS, Saint said to use 20 minutes or if the same is not available use 15 minutes!!! So far so good!!!
If you see the charts in 30 minutes, 20 minutes and even 15 minutes, the pivots are at exactly the same levels!!!
I am tempted to add that u need to re-read the Teach a man to fish... Please get your basics for Pivots clear!! There are 2 pivots only in 15 minutes at 12.30 and 2.45!!!

Hi, No idea abt Nifty spot, dont have a chart handy, but Nifty futures closed at 3966 on 4th July, a weekly close!!

Nifty Spot I presume!!!! Nifty futures had a weekly close below 4000 in July this year!!!! People have started talking of 3800 as spot target, good for the 60 min.flow traders!!!!

NIFTY closed below 4000 on SIX occasions in JULY'08.As far as Weekly NIFTY is concerned the statement that it has closed below 4000 for the first time is correct.
