Re: NRI_invest for future.

Dear all,

A Big Hello.. this is first time I'm writing here... I'm lost.. need some guidance.
I'm a NRI in Japan, and will sooner or later return to India for good. I want to invest as much as I can in another 3-4 years in Mutual funds, I have been doing research for 5-6 months now.. but completely lost in number of mutual funds and no of schemes.

I can tolerate very high risk.. for 2-3 years.. so I want to invest in most aggressive, and most rewarding Mutual funds (Not stocks because I cannot do trading every day..based on volatality.) right now.. then move to more conservative down the line.. and very very conservative in 10-15 years.. I'm 37 years old now. and planning to retire for good in max 10 years.. there are lot of things in life which I want to do... but never got to do..

What I want for you financial gurus(I know the basic concept of Mutual funds.. but not qualified to identify good bad MF).. is if you could help me to identify some 10 mutual funds.. where I should invest. I would be really very happy if you could really help me identify some jems out of the pool..

Or any other suggestion if you think deem necessary.

Oh yaa.. one more thing... I'm in Japan for quite some time,so if you want any information on Japan I will be sure to help you guy's out as a friendly gesture.

Re: NRI_invest for future.

hi Av1976,

Based on my research from different sources like traderji, my friends who are good in financial world, news papers, valuerearchonline etc.. I have come up with the list of around 20 funds or so.. who have done best in past... Now of these list, I'm in verge of digging it in further.. and understanding which fund has invested in what stocks etc.. and then CHOOSE 6 of them and stick with them for a very very long time.. check periodically and make changes according to performance.. I would like to share the list with you. While I agree that we have missed the bus.. but there is still a very good chance.. If I can see in future with all my x-ray glasses.. I think next 10 years or so is very crucial for all the Indians... Next 10 years will truly make us leader.

MY PERSONAL PRESPECTIVE IS THAT REAL-ESTATE also gives good returns.. but the problem with that is very soon all your investment will turn in blackmoney.. this is what HATE most... So trying to be as far as I can.

Best Luck with investing.

Re: NRI_invest for future.

Hello,

After doing a lot of research and monitoring their NAV & returns, finally I have shortlisted these funds which will give you good returns in the future.

These are young & new funds so they will grow.
Remember past performances do not gurantee future returns, also funds with higher Asset sizes are difficult to manage:

Have a look at this portfolio and please comment on it:

Reliance Diversified Power 13.51%
ICICI Pru Infrastructure 12.16%
DSP ML TIGER Reg 12.16%
BNP Select Focus 16.22%
Magnum Contra / Principal Large Cap 16.22%
Kotak Opportunities 16.22%
Std. Chartered Premiere Equity 13.51%

This is my portfolio

Archie

Re: Best Open ended Mutual fund

Hello!
welcom 2 MFs. You rightly pointed out that Rel Power sec Gr is a high yielding fund presently. But its a 'sector' fund with narrow gaze. Its not diversified fund & puts its fortunes in vry limited power related stocks. Although the returns are pretty fine today, but it carries high risk of slow down. You should remain vigilent of performence after your investment. My advice is to park 10-20% of your investments in such a fund, not more than that.
Other good performing diversified equity funds you can bet upon are- ICICI Pru Infrast Gr, HDFC equity Gr, Sundram Select focus, Reliance Vision etc
