How can I create a simple website like Moneycontrol.com

I am looking at features like stock lookup and give a chart on the price .
Historical data like financials etc .

Can anyone tell me how to start research on doing this ?

BTW learn some lessons on open source, U can find out many ready made template code just google down load that have all open source hosting infra and play with it u can build it if you trainined in few weeks time and if you are not trained the 3 months time


However for Moneycontrol you might need years cuz its not a simple site lots and lots of features. So if you are asking to build like moneycontrol then forget it the way you ask suggest you are not a web programmer or it guy so better pay some IT guy u can get many online IT web developers who can give you the solution very cheap

Very informative post , i think yeah money control like sites are indeed costly .
I am just tyring to build something that is very light , to do type of stock research and need only the basic features of money contol like

get quote display with basic pe book value etc then display basic data like balance sheet income ... statement etc ....

open source is what i am looking ,cant touch non open source as it is a corporate only thing .

any ideas with google finance ? they have a lot of data but how to extract ? use
