How to convert NSE indices CSV files to MS format

#12
Hello Mr.Bhavsar,
I have recently downloaded the T.A. Software called Aptistock because it is free and that's all i can afford at this time. I have also got from this forum another software called "getBhavCopy" which also is free.
The Aptistock Software help file says that the data file has to be comma separated with following fields and it should be in Metastock acceptable format
<ticker>,<name>,<period(D for EOD>,<open>,<high>,<low>,<close>,<vol>,<oi>
Can you please suggest a suitable thread in this forum or a converter tool (again Free) which will be able to get the historical EOD data for NSE and BSE inj to above mentioned format by bulk conversion of files
Thanks in advance

Data Downloader

There are easy ways to do it.
1.Somewhere in this forum a senior has created a simple program "NSEEOD DATADOENLOADER " WITH VIX. I am not able to attach the pdf file since it is more than 100 kb.If you wish PM me ur mail id.otherwise search tis forum and you will find it.
2.Try "Volume Digger"
3.While downloading Historical data and Bhavcopy If I use Internet explorer and instead of "save"use " Save target as" - and choose excel it is saved in XL format. This is not working with firefox- I do not know why.
4.By simply writing a query in excel we can filter the downloaded data into a easily managable file like deleting EQ or last price or value in lakhs etc...
5.The only hard part is we cannot convert the bulk data by Metastock Downloader .we have to convert datewise or filewise. There must be a solution.
6.Try searching - some seiors might have uploaded zip file of historical data and this will make the task easier.
There is a free program , I think , is also available as Fibo Trader.
One more piece of unasked advice. Since you are new go through Saint's " Teach a man to Fish" .It is not advisable to daytrade unless you gain some experience in swing trade or long term investing.( This is for Sharantaka)
Best of Luck
