How to get realtime data and convert it to metastock format

Hi,
download "personal stock monitor gold" software which is available for 30 days evaluation for free from their website(try google search for their website). run it. then near the "yahoo" list box, click on "find ticker symbol" For example, for getting data for satyam computers type saty.ns in "find what" box and change "exchange" to "world markets" rather than "us and canada". then click on "start lookup". then click on that saty.ns symbol and click on "ok"

then press "close"

then click on that symbol and select "export" from file menu

give a file name

change the file type to "metastock ascii format"

that is it...

Now,

Can anybody say how to get the charts in metastock from this ascii data?

One more question...

Is there any alternate way for getting realtime intraday data into metastock?
Please explain in step by step

HI,
Metastock is accompnied by a programme called converter. Go to the down loader from tools pull doen menu. In downloader Tools pulldown menu you will finnd "convert". When the appelet opens, whlie giving attributes of the file say ASCII.

There is another programme accompnied with Metastock called Convert to MS. If u have that U will find the fecilities there too.

But unfortunately all those are time consuming and BSE and NSE are a little away from providing u data in MS Format.

I am also frantically looking for getting data directly and real time, which can be readily usable in Metastock and other charting tools.

Mind u I not a trader nor an analysist but only experimenting with metastock.

if u can do with a 15 min delay for intraday data the RTQ Downloader from www.trading-tools.com could work for you

Are you getting quotes on your monitor before exporting the file? I tried to use the s/w but was not getting any quote. If quotes are received then only the subsequent process to get charts can be explored.
Attached is the quote monitor 4 ur review.
