Hey Kamlesh, I dont know much about MT4 but if you want to perform TA on Indian stocks here are are a few options -

1. ChartNexus - this is a free software providing free EOD data for many markets including Indian markets. However the data is for Equity and not Futures but its works very well. Amazingly clean interface. I have been using it for quite some time now.

2. For Intraday data you can go for an account with Sharekhan. They have the best Desktop software in the Indian markets with the best charting capabilities. You can have multiple charts open, maximize charts, set alerts based on prices, and they also have some Technical studies (indicators) along with capability to draw trend lines etc.

3. You can also opt for any software supported by data providers however after long research I have settled for AmiBroker from tradinganalysis.co.in and live futures data from their sister firm globaldatafeeds.in. AmiBroker costs 14k, 17k, or 20k roughly depending on what package you choose. They also provide historical intradata data for roughyl 4.5k if you are interested otherwise current month intraday data is available and daily eod for over a couple of years (or since the time the symbol started in the Futures market).

I personally do not know of many other quality options that let you focus on what you want to do.

Aditya ...i want to analyse stocks where futures trading takes place...250 approx...basically...i want to test my methods of multiple TF trendlines on stocks too...it would be helpful knowing how to import data to MT4.
Oh........ you blew my mind off......... Data for all the major counters.....

As far as I know, we need to import the data in MT4 one-by-one for each TF and each Security........ So, if you want to import the data for all the nine TFs (1min, 5min, 15min, 30min, 1hr, 4hr, Daily, Weekly, Monthly) of just 1 security... You would have to repeat the procedure 9 times..... So, for 250 securities you would have to repeat the procedure about 2200 times..... I don't know if there's an automatic way of importing the data.....

As far as data is concerned.... I would try to arrange it for all the TFs....

But does anyone know how to import the data in MT4 without much manual intervention...... Or some other better solution.....

Hi Aditya,

Wouldn't 1 min TF be sufficient for rest of the TF.... Just thinking aloud..!!!

MT4 doesn't manipulate that 1 min TF data to produce the charts for 5min, 15min, etc...... It is required to be feed the data for different TFs....... I have tried it......

However, I don't know if there are tools available which would help manipulate that data in MT4.....

If you want NSE data on MT4 I guess Fxcentral is an option, I came to know about BFD only today that they also give NSE on MT4. I had subscribed to FXcentral sometime back, I felt their data is ok, its fast.

Drawbacks:

1. The openings are not consistent with the exact prices.
2. Time on the MT4 as its GMT.
3. The symbols that fxcentral gives is different from NSE symbols.
4. Unavailability of Market watch, with percent gain/loss for the day/week in real time. And from there jumping to the charts directly.
5. Support is ok, not that great.

Good things:

1. Its on MT4, its a huge positive.
2. Data is pretty smooth and very fast.

I am not sure how is BFD, what their plans are. May be someone can get the info and educate.
