How to trade with an oscillator

Posting 5 min Nifty Futures chart for today (21-09-2009)

The oscillator stayed in OB area for more than 5 bars at three places shown in the chart ,indicating a very strong move on the upside....

In 2:15 bar it also gave an excellent buy signal where all entry qualifiers were satisfied.....and the market never looked back, took off like a rocket from that point....

Today was a strong trend day....but it was also very profitable for someone who knows how to trade on oscillators....against popular belief that traders trading on oscillators get crushed on strong trend days.... One should know how to use it....

Thanks ST, this concept has really helped me improve my intraday trades.

I do have one request, can you look at Nifty spot weekly chart. Is there a possible divergence?

If yes, would it makes sense to say below 4353 a short position would be favorable?

Yes you are right...there is a negative divergence in weekly charts....the indicator was in OB area for more than 5 bars...then came to neutral zone,then again to OB area,stayed there for less than 5 days.....already give a downclose...and if 4353 is broken,we will have a downtrend....

Good observation nitin....not many would observe that...great going...great reading....:clapping:
