Ifci- A Breakout In The Anvil??

Members,
Checked the company results for the last two quarters. And the profit has reduced from 644.12crore(Quarter : Jan-Mar'2007) to 246.86crore(Quarter : Apr-Jun'2007) .
Will it have the downside in the price levels from Rs-60 to Rs-20 levels from hereon. Please advise.
dear devi

please dont compare the last quarter results of ifci with this quarter.. last quarter they had the stake sale of nse, icra etc and that only showed the enlarged profit kitty.. this time, it is the real profit shown (disclaimer: it seems that the sale proceeds of malvika steel is not included in the results)
dont worry about the temporary downside. it will rise again and it will surely reach 100+ by the end of september..

Already I am Holding IFCI from 20 levels . Sure would like to know some more turnarounds from you.:)
Regards
JI SURE ur welcome.i hv stdid this scrip for 2/3 yrs.
tHE stk SALE DECISION IS POSTPONED , BUT IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TME.
IFCI SUNK BCOZ OF GOVT DICTATS WHICH IT WIIL NOT LISTEN TO NOW AS THE GOVE DID NOTHING TO HELP IT.GOVT HELPED IDBI AND UTI BUT NOT IFCI.
This to my mind is a key USP for Ifci.It is not Govt controlled and the gove has no shareholding in IFCI.
lET IT DECLINE 10% ,20% BUT DO Pvramid as 1:2:4 ratio.:D:D

NEW DELHI: IFCI will soon invite expressions of interest (EoI) to sell its 26% stake to a strategic investor. The company board, which met in the capital, on Friday gave its go-ahead to the proposal to rope in a strategic investor. “The board has approved the proposal. The company will soon invite expressions of interest from strategic investors,” IFCI chief executive officer RM Malla told ET after the board meeting.

He said international competitive bids will be invited which would allow both domestic and foreign players to bid for the stake.

Asked if existing foreign stakeholders like Morgan Stanley or Goldman Sachs will be eligible to bid, Mr Malla who was serving his last day at IFCI said these companies could bid if they meet the conditions placed in the EOI.

IFCI has appointed management consultant Ernst & Young to look for the strategic investor. E&Y has been asked to suggest names of strategic investors and will help IFCI in carrying out modalities related to stake sale.

As per the proposal, strategic investors will have to make bids within a month of the memorandum of information being made public. Following this, IFCI will shortlist some investors. These investors will be allowed to do a detailed due diligence and submit a fresh bid indicating the price they are willing to pay for the 26% stake.

Based on the second round of bids, the IFCI board will decide on the new stakeholder. As a precursor to stake sale, IFCI had in May passed an enabling resolution to increase foreign holding in the company up to 74% of its share capital.

The company board also approved the first quarter results for FYO8. IFCI reported a net profit of Rs 246.86 crore in April-June 2007-08 compared to net loss of Rs 15.61 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. The company’s total income increased by 88.49% to Rs 485.57 crore in Q1 of 2007-08.

HI
Just see the results for q1 fy08.The annual profit i target at 1100 crore conservativly,as the best perf will be in q4 allways.
Now this translates into an EPS of 17/18.
The stock deserves a PE multiplier of 15 at least.
So what is the target for a 1 yr hold?
In the meantime i expect the big bears to pull the counter down to shake out the weak hands.
I'll wait to see if the move is put into action and pyramid all the way down at intervals of 10%.
I have faith in the fundamentals and so i amm convinced that i shall hold and pyramid.:eek:

Today , this scrip touched 57.8 and bounced back to 61 levels and settled at around 60 levels. Is the bullish mode over for this scrip or set to bounce to 70+ levels from hereon. Plz advise
----------------------------------------------------------------------
HI
IT's bullish.I too felt todaty that their will e a decline to the 61.8% level. It was down 4% at one point of time.
The pick up from their shows strength.Once again the weak hands booked profits and the smart money took to buy.
With +250 crore profit in q1 i can look forward to 1000/ 1100 cr profit in 1 year. That means an EPS of about 19.
So where shall i put a conservative target...... Rs 190 looks OK????:D
THIS gIANT HAS WOKEN UP.nOTHING TO STOP IT NOW AS ADDITIONAL CAPEX TAKES SHAPE.

No Doubt It Was A Sleeping Giant . But It Roared From Rs 8/- To Current Level. Condidering The Progress The Target Mentioned Is Always Possible. It Will Be Safe To Buy On Decline

ifci is in a consolidating mood now and it will shoot up to 70+ levels soon.. if it closes above 58.30 tomorrow, watch out for the rally to start.... as per the rumours, ifci board meeting is slated on august 4th for considering the stake sale...
