Espirito Santo’s top eight 'Silver Bullets' for Q12014

Axis Bank: Fair value set at Rs 1337 :thumb:

Axis Bank trades with an attractive valuation of 1.25x FY15E P/B and should lead to out-performance in the next two to three months.

Axis Bank's retail branch network mix and smart execution of its retail strategy should help it positively surprise consensus as we head into its Q3 FY14 earnings, although the Street is way too pessimistic on Axis Bank's performance in the coming quarter, which is reflected in the consensus estimate of a mere 2 per cent growth in PAT YoY for Q3 FY14.

Contrary to consensus, the brokerage firm expects the bank to surprise on margins and credit costs, leading to a 5 per cent PAT upgrade for FY14E.

Axis Bank has underperformed the BANKEX by nearly 6 per cent in the past month, but Espirito believes that this should change post Q3 FY14 results, when they expect the bank to deliver a positive surprise. :clapping:
