WHo said I am a pro?

Just a few thousand trades old..... a mere beginner, will die one.

:)
Remember me when making the will-paper,with 10 to 12 trades a day,I am now a good successor of ur legacy.Trading for a living is defining a pro these days, btw.

........ As far as I know, none such exists."
-Ed Seykota.

Thanx to Seykota. Feel like a yeti now.

Daytrading might work in the short run for young people who eventually may develop serious stress related illnesses ( I know stressed out day traders first hand , that too intelligent folks ) , but if I want to enjoy the profession of trading for decades and have a balanced and comfortable life, weekly and monthly time frames work the best ( not to mention that it makes brokers unhappy ) . You don't see too many day traders with great wealth - probably they are not alive to enjoy it :)
Cheers
Its too scarey.
stress is there but I blame it to subjective technique.

Its the same thing.
Profit margins, are lower so the stops are.
The awareness that you are daytrading & its something different, makes people overcautious. That may be reason of the losses.

On the contrary I feel it's safest.
Atleast, you are not going to die, because some minister announced something idiotic after trading hours.
Plus you can enjoy life after 3.30 no need to care even if market exists.

not proclaiming myself, I as dont believe there is anything to.
May be its because, from the very start, never considered positional trading.
OR may be because at the very start did not meet people asking the question.....Is Daytrading dangerous?

He is a quant position trader, he needs everything on a platter, somebody point him to the yahoo screener. :D
Well hotshots/Einsteins whatever you are, its not just me, you will find some of the most sophisticated traders in this planet here , refer to this thread on Amibroker- ts pretty obvious its not great for FA. I agree that its great for TA.

...
However, you can not back test strategies that use fundamental data. The limitation is not Amibroker itself, but the lack of historical fundamental data in a form that Amibroker can use.
..
I got more or less the same response from Amibroker themselves.

You keep day trading futures, your money is mine :)

Impossibilities are endless! It was once impossible to fly in air for human beings! Impossibility of crossing oceans!

LACK OF HISTORICAL DATA IN A FORM AMI CAN USE

What about ASCII???

I must say Amibroker is "meant" to be a TA package, but, but if we use the grey matter with AFL we can use it as a good(moderate) FA package!

Right now we have "option" (visible one) to store FA data!

If you need to feed in historical FA data make it as a ASCII file and export it!

The software is meant to analyse any set of data, provided it is time varying!

Even the "cycle(periodic)" of a fairer sex can be analysed! :D
Sorry lady traders but it is truth!

Instead of open, high, low, close, volume, open interest, Time please put you FA data!!!

Rather than telling IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!

-If you specifically tell what u need and what u want to do with it probably the people here could help

U can have maximum 4(7 if you want to push too hard) variables with endless history on single DB!!!:D:eek:

7 variables is not enough for serious stock picking . I would rather search for a good data feed or a good FA tool. I am not hung up on Ami broker or any single tool, If I get a good affordable tool I will use it. Openquant seems to be interesting. Thanks for your help anyways.

How comfortable. You have no idea how markets work, keep up with your fundamental backtesting.

Was reading this a while ago, its frm a Jim Simmons interview

In a July decision, the two briefly described three strategies that Renaissance had explored. One involved swaps, which are contracts to exchange interest or other payments; another used an electronic order matching system that anonymously links buyers and sellers; and a third made use of Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange limit order books, which are real-time records of unexecuted orders to buy or sell a stock at a particular price.

Somebody mail the guy to do some fundamental multi-factor models instead, never mind the fact that he is a multi-billionaire. Maybe thats why he does so well in this business, no dearth of bookish wankers who cant see past their noses.
