Yes u can...but ideal situation is to enter into the trade immediately on the next day of trade trigerred...this is short sell...i dont think so in cash market u can carry forward short sell trade...pls check with your broker...

I take the data from NSE website (Bhavcopy) at the end of the day. I use Amibroker for my analysis. If you have used Ami go for it or else use NSETAME which is the ultimate authority!

Low of 21.12.12 Rs.77.20, made Low of 76.50 on 22.12.12

If somebody had taken position in Ucobank,SL would have triggered on 26/12.Kindly can you tell why we should have refrained from taking position in ucobank on 24/12 when it closed below triggered price i.e 76.85.

Hi Prabh,
In this strategy I am not using any Filter to confirm the Crossover & ADX. As per this strategy to enter into the trade two conditions are to be met 1). EMA crossover 2). ADX confirmation. When these two are met we will come to know whether to Buy or Sell according to the crossover. In the case of Uco Bank the EMA & ADX confirmed the crossing on 21.12.12 and we entered short on 24.12.12 with the low of 21.12.12 keeping SL of 21.12.12 high price. The SL hit on the trade on 26.12.12.

Absolutely correct so my question how could we avoided SL.Actually trigger price is coming out at 77.2 on 21/12 when EMA and ADX conditions are meet but is 77.2 which is low of the day correct trigger price.Should not we consider high/low of the last Pivot candle rather then high/low of the trigger candle.So in this case we could have taken trigger price as 76.30 which is low of 14/12 which is last pivot candle.Due you think this could have worked?

kartik , is there any more filter's or suggestion in ur mind to avoid whips , as i saw that this stratgery is capable in capturing large moves , can we take trade in direction of weakly or any other suggestion for improving of performance..

p.s.: any suggestion on exit stratgery ...............to capture the maximum juice...

I have not tested the Weekly direction to take a call. Exit as I said u can come out on price not touching 3EMA or with some fixed % return!

Just a few thoughts on exits for this strategy:

Note: Need to include bollinger bands also with this strategy for exits.

If long: Exit when there is a combination of green and red candle at the top BB band and the red candle high and lows are not breaching high and lows of green candle. This is also called inside candle.

If short: Exit when there is a combination of red and green candle at the lower BB band and the green candle is breaching the high and lows of red candle
