the levels given by you were from Daily/Weekly or Hrly charts?
- They are from daily chart readings
Now for positional trade, which TF u select.
- All my trades are positional, as my 95% of trades are in cash market. The short term readings i post on my thread are for short term to intraday traders.
I analyse weekly, then daily for any cash position initiation. If at all i have good sense of chart reading, i initiate on hourly just to get into that very moment, stock trying to move into desired direction.
In yr order of preference for trading, u had given long term as first preference.
For this ,which TF u c.And what will be yr s/l, whether same TF - correspoding TL, PL, etc.
Long term - Weekly, Daily
I dont initiate 100% position at one stroke. I entered almost 40-50% on my first tranche. Rest on second confirmation, if daily closing going into strong.
Stoploss are mostly a parameter of recent volatility. But i limit well my stoploss at max within 10%. In 2015, all my stock trades in cash have avg stoploss position of 7.85%.
I trail, 50% of my quantity on daily charts, and rest i give some flexibility, to track it on weekly basis. IF stock is weak, then it will hit my all levels in a week. This implies stock lacking big buying.
And last, for intra, where u will look at for S/R.
Is it visual Price action or some other like Fib,pivot, etc.
You will consider Pivot or Not for trend & s/l decision
If i am trading intraday charts, mostly in Nifty F&O, then i look at daily/hourly/5min settings. Position initiation always closer to daily S/R levels. I rarely look into candlestick/bar formation in 5min. Since position initiation is based on S/R levels, i stick to it. But i need volume coming in, after i get in. Else something wrong i commit. Either i get in early or just trying to trade range bound market. Generally, i get into trade, in first 5-10 minutes i get sense, whether it is lacking buying/selling into it.
With recent SEBI actions, it is not in forum rules to specify buy/sell levels. All i can do is have Demand/supply levels with strong above / weak below type of analysis.
