Nice thread, not becoz it may end up with a recepie for Doubling money in 40 trades but the discussions with inputs from SG and ST have been great read. It also depicts the usual Trder mind set of doubting any thing in TA that can give money. (I have my share of it) Read the entire thread at one go and might have missed some subtle points.
I totally agree that it is possible to double money in 40 trades but not sure if it can be done perpetually. Its easier to trade 4/5 lots of BNF but as the Trade size increases it beomes more and more difficult to maintain the discipline. (I said "difficult" not impossible)
Are doubling the amount without considering the Brokerage and other charges, slippage wont come in here as actual trades are beinbg posted though there are few posts of the owner of the thread which raises doubt that he is actually "paper trading"!! In such a case "slippage" wouyld come into picture. ( Please r1989, no aspersions meant, just ignore this comment if you are actually Trading with real money)
Also I find that r1989 is not always adding positons into profit but adding without the original position is in profit, like taking 2 lots in the very first trade.. now again this could be due to the size of the SL he has in place, where RR is very much in his favour.....
If at any time r1989 wishes to share his strategy, I would rather be happy to ask him how he "maintains" his disciplne rather than the strategy... frankly there are N number of systems around that give more profits than what is being followed by r1989, but only on paper... in actual traders like me give actual losses!!!
I was following a strategy by ccmb420 (Shravan), now banned here, who shared it with me commercially, I could not earn from it in 4 months and lastly ccmb gave me on line calls for another 4 months then only I could master it. One thing that came out from this exercise is that more than the system its the "Trader" that matters. r1898 will double his money in 40 trades, but even if he reveals his strategy, not many would be able to repeat this feat.... Thanks again r1989, like so many selfless people here, you add to their list.. on Traderji it rubs off.. look forward to other aspects of trading too rather than the strategy itself
