MetaStock NSE Data downloader with VIX

I'm working on Options, but I can't figure out how to show the data. How do you see a PE/CE option EOD charts? Can you post some option chart here? I understand how options works but can't imagine how they view the data on EOD basis.

Also, I can't understand where to show the PCR or Strike Price in MetaStock. I'm in touch with MS forum.

if we just fetch daily dat of open interest put call ratio ( from kotak or any other site, or from nse, data of o.i. of option )then can we make such a indicator as shown on left corner?
if there is no pace to show the indicator then cant we use option pen interest data separately as vix ?, and make a chart of option as i draw chart of vix ?
sorry if my qs r very lay.. as i didnt hv any clue about software and how they operate

sorry this is a metastock thread.. posting bout fchart ( as fchart thread is bit dead ).... xtalk, fchart read txt doc. so is it possible to copy pest the data in note pad and import it into fchart ?
can i write the header as nifty future for option ?

I'm sure Fchart will have some import text file facility. Pls make sure it supports following format

BANKNIFTY-I,20080930,5300,5875,5300,5794.95,48918,410775
BANKNIFTY-II,20080930,5548.75,5876,5481,5800.65,487,2375
BANKNIFTY-III,20080930,6130,6130,6130,6130,1,25

I couldn't understand ur question "can i write the header as nifty future for option ?" i can generate data as follows (stock, date, o,h,l,c,vol,oi). Does that help you or any options trader?

exactly thats what i mean ... right nw i am experimenting with lay brain on my fchart .. ur help on sw front is really appreciated buddy ....
i will try to copy post above thing in notepad and will see if it works in fchart ...
p.s. ur utility rocks ... updating feeds in no time ..

ahh.. i copy pested above ' nifty29oct2008..' in note pad and save as a subject option .. and import that file is fchart .. but couldnt find 'option' ...
it will be great help if u come up with option utility xtalk .... as those things above my head now
add edit.. can i extract nifty future open interest with ur utility ?

sir , i m totaly new pls help me in getting in historical data of nse exactly same as this software is providing bcos if i hav historical data which is not identical to it how will it get updated properly also i dont get this tat y this data is so heavy i mean i tried to download n convert only one week data with this app n wen converted into metastock format size was 1 mb normal but on disk 60 mb i dont get this?????

I couldn't understand your problem. Please make sure that the dates are in mm/dd/yyyy format. File size/day is around 90-100kb. All data is downloaded from the NSE server. Hope that helps.

If you please search "Data Feeds > End of Day" section there are several posts regarding MS historical data dump (equity series only). And those are split/bonus adjusted, i guess. NSE keep stock data as is, i.e not split & bonus adjusted form. So, we have to manually adjust split/bonus or rename.

P.S. I have downloaded all NSE futures data (since 2000) using my own utility.
