I am moving to India completely, so wont be considered an NRI.

But do share your thoughts on how you see the technology in the indian brokerage services compared to western standards...maybe you can shed some more light on why we are still not up t the mark...

Apart from dowtown Mumbai, I don't think there is any city in India which does not face power supply problem. One has to be prepared for that at any time by keeping other gadgets like UPS/generator etc. In my opinion that is the mother of all problems. Then there is network problem either at client's side or broker's side. In any case you will not be able to put your order online during that time. During high volatality periods brokers' telephones are always busy. Of course these problems are painful for any trader but more so for very active day-trader or scalper. So better be prepared for the worst everyday.
I have used 5paisa and sharekhan exe based platforms. Both are almost same and good. No Idea about other brokers s/w.
