My algo trading daily performance

Hi mithoon

Could you please clarify exactly what kind of issues were faced ? Could that have had an impact on the live trading performance as well ? Your practical experience would prove out to be useful for others as well, who might be considering Symphony.

Thanks a lot

I have been trading with Symphony for over 2 years now, the number of issues in the last one month have exceeded those in the last 2 years,I was made aware by Symphony that these were mainly hardware issues due to increase in number of clients and are working on rectifying/Upgrading the same.
In case of any issue be it hardware or connectivity, the end user(those using Amibroker) is affected in 2 ways,
1)The Buy/Sell orders from Fuse(the trading bridge)wont go to Presto(trading platform)
and this could happen any time of the day,but it mostly happens during the first or the last hour.
2)The Buy/Sell orders from Fuse go to Presto ,but Presto rejects the order and this also could happen any time of the day,but it mostly happens during the first or the last hour.

Thank you so much for the explanation mithoon. :)

That looks like a risky scenario. Hopefully they fix it up soon.

Yes, right. This month many times service disruption with Symphony. Since i was trading positional, there was no impact for me . However people who were trading intraday would have had a tough time this month.

July was one of the good months.:thumb:. Although it was choppy for most of the month, last few days came to the rescue.
Though i am still concerned about the slippages part (unable to keep them down). Have got some advice from one of my trader friend, lets see how it goes for the next month. Also removing Unitech, Jpass, Adani from the basket.
These stocks have literally died.

This is my 8th consecutive +ve trading month. I am now starting to believe in the statistical significance of the strategies. A few more good months would prove that. Fingers crossed.

All the best to everyone for the coming trading month.:thumb:

Just superb!!! Mechtrader. A few question, if it does not compromise your strategy :

1. How many scripts are in the watchlist?
2. How many open positions at one time?
3. Limits if any on no. of trades - intraday.
4. Scan basis intraday setup or 5D, Daily charts?
5. Trades basis what TF (3M, 5M, 15M etc)?
6. Trades basis PA ? Indicator? Setups? (DB, DT, H&S etc)
7. Any manual intervention done once in a trade anytime?

Appreciate your thoughts. You may choose to not reply to all some (exclude any specific question) if you wish.

Thanks

1. I have a watchlist of 30 stocks and three strategies across them.
2. There is no limit of open positons as such. However in the backtest it shows max open positions to be 40. Average is 12-13 per day.
3. I do max one trade in one stock per strategy. NO other limits as such.
4. There is no scan basis. Whichever stock fulfills a set of criteria gets traded.
5. I trade 10min tf.
6. I always trade in the direction of longer term trend. Entry is based on some candlestick patterns on the shorter tf. I try to keep my entries when the action is less and anticipate the action with a small stop loss.
I use fixed percent stop loss.
Exit criteria is very simple (whnevr buy condition gets satisfied again the trail stop is moved.)
7. No I dont do any manual intervention once in a trade. I feel that i am not good at managing positions, so i let the machine do its work.

Its never about hiding anything, I am open to answer as many questions as people have.:thumb:
