Hi all,
as this thread got 'sticky', it obviously attracting more users of TJ and inturn, garnering all kinds of comments and posts. Thanks to Varun for introducing OBV to many folks here even though its around for decades now. Just like any other visual representation, it has its own pros and cons(but thats besides the point of this post)
My observations on the thread:
------------------------------
1. This thread started with 200 ema and 36 ema OBV/price system..went on for some 50-100 pages. Then, ribbon system came into existence and we are at 250+ page. As someone pointed out, people can consider it two separate systems.
2. Lot of afl coding requests and solutions also added oil to the fire. Too many versions of afl. So, more confusion happened
As a non-techie guy, i would need afl to test it and different users come with different level of comfortability with Ami..more confusion !!
3. And incidentally, Varun also started talking about trendlines, higher highs/lows(dow theory) higher TF (timeframe amalgamation), 1 min/15min/30min/60 mins....so, unassuming readers got more confused.
4. People were expecting a simple buy/sell system and complete spoonfeeding of rules and afl. They also wanted buy arrows and sell arrows in afl..start trading it and laugh all the way to the bank. Unfortunately, Varun did not know the nature of the readers( i meant the majority - more than 95%) of TJ..they need spoonfeeding. Period !! Extremely good threads died as they starting veering away from basics. Nitty-gritties of any system should be devised by the individual trader.
5. If possible, users wanted Varun to transfer all his psychological capabilities (+ complete packed knowledge) in one-go. As someone said, system is as good as only the trader using it. Nobody can transfer any knowledge or their emotional fortitude over a forum message(s). It takes raw work/grit to be a successful trader...usually years !!
6. Varun - in my opinion, this thread has run its course. As this forum is public, there will be someone who will differ with your opinions/thought process once in a while. Trust me - they will not ignore this thread. They will reply and would seek answers in all kinds of ways. This is human nature..seeking answers to travel to more comfortable zone. Human beings want maximum joy and comfort with minimal work(inherently lazy
)
6. Having said all these things, i would urge Varun to curb the enthusiasm(of posting so many one-liners) and focus on the basics of the system. Trendline drawing, and other figure drawings would only create more chaos and confusion. If there is nothing more to talk about the basic structure that forms the system, then answering questions on basics would keep the thread focusing on the purpose.
As the traders are so used to educationists(those who teach systems) introducing one more variable every week, they get acidic and demand answers. So, its difficult for them to come out of this 'suspecting' mindset.
7. Varun - people's condescending tone will diminish as long as you stick with the basics..when you introduce more variables, that attitude will 'show up' again. Based on personal experience in other forums.
Thought of sharing my opinion. I am entitled to be wrong 100% as it is just 'my' opinion. Lets all try to take a leaf or two from traderji as a whole and see if we can be better traders.
Good night
