when angel charges 80, find out if it is for one leg or both legs together as well as whether is including all taxes, (when rkg charges rs 114 for buy+sell for full nifty, the brokerage they get is only 9+9=18 rs and the balance of rs 114-18= 96 are total taxes, so taxes are much more than brokerage and if brokerage is more then taxes on the brokerage will also increase substantially and thus your total cost per trade. So be very careful in selecting broker and if necessary to change broker, do it without any remorse,
as brokers will always try to cajole you into not changing. select broker depending on least brokerage, fast trading platform and the daily quantity of your trades

On Friday I traded two nifty min. lots (2 buys & 2 sells) ... They charged me

Total Brokerage : 85 + 85 = 170/- :(

Ser. Tax : 10.86 + 10.86 = 21.72

STT : 17.80 + 18.20 = 36

Total : 227/- deducted from 543/- (around 27 points :( )

I got only around 296/- :annoyed:

This is I guess too much of a charge !!! WHat say seniors ???

Ajit, don't break your head like this. The newer brokers have a brokerage calculator on their website. Check it out for rksv and zerodha below.

Assuming that you had a profit of 13.5 points per lot (purchase @5300, sell @5313.5), with RKSV you will make a profit of Rs. 242 per lot minus Rs. 100 per day brokerage. With Zerodha you will make a profit of Rs. 216 per lot minus Rs. 50 stamp duty per day (I think that stamp duty will be less if you only traded 1 lot minifty per day).

For a single trade like this, zerodha is cheaper. Both of them are equal upto 2 trades. For 3 or more trades, you save about 2 points per trade with RKSV.

You can try similar calculations for other brokers like RK global, bezel etc.. and draw your own conclusions.

227 / 2 = 113.50 is too much compared to 52........isn't it.....:D

Only thing is I hope they are safe and reliable ....
Open only a trading account if you are planning to work in nifty/minifty/F&O only. Let your DP with Angel continue, as I am continuing my DP with Sharekhan.

Also, why don't you ask them directly about the safety and reliability in handling your money. Ask in their respective threads.
