Dear PG i said it in normal situation no doubt it is not possibility for all the sellers make profit. A buyer have to think as an investor (not as trader) is the buy price is worth or not. I do agree with you selling doesn't mean @ profit finally short sell possible only for limited scrips that too in F&O. Equity investment to be considered as an investment component at high risk allocation of fund from one's earnings with proper study and the rerun on investment shall be anticipated duration exceeding at least 2 years time frame.

Out of the total volume genereated in exchange hardly 5% trades are done by the real investor who park his hard earned money in stocks for 2 or more years time frame. and the rest trade done by the traders who is either day trader or swing / positional trader.

That's why i say :

Every time one guy sells, another one buys, and they both think they're smart.
