I'm new too, but I'm only saying 300 points--lol.
Paul, we know you for a year ... and sometimes we can ... complete your sentences ... not the market prediction ones but about Tucker at least.

This guy is totally unknown but his tone was very concerned. Could be someone trying to scare ... apart from TJ, I am a member of a 19000 member mailing list, and if you scare then right, I bet you can move the market at least a few points. Beyond this, no idea, no speculation.

LOL (Even holding my sides.). So tell me, what am I thinking right now? What do you think Tucker is doing right now. I'll guarantee you this. He is not more than 5 feet from me.

Okay, time to get serious, and back to business.
JC, (Yes, this is also something I've said quite a few times.) if that is the case, and you got scared into believing that rumor, then this is going to be good advice for you:
Never (Yes, NEVER) believe anyone or take anyone's word for a forecast or a prediction. When someone tells you this is the way it is according to their methodology, never believe them.

Simply put, the guys that follow this thread know I have a high regard for them. If I name names, I would leave someone out, so I'll just leave it as a blanket statement.
Assuming you at the beginning of the learning curve, when someone introduces a way of looking at the market, I would respect them, but don't believe it until you have harnessed it for yourself and proven to yourself that whatever it is has worked for you personally. Stay open minded. Experiment. Try new ideas. Afterward, a personal methodology will fall in place for you.

Let me add an additional nugget to that. There is no need to be concerned even if some trusted source told you the market is going to drop 2,000 points. That should not matter to you. If you are climbing the learning curve, then you should not be in the market with your live money, so what does it matter how far it will rise or drop?

SJD, just a funny thought I wonder if JC took me for real. He's got to be thinking, "That dude has got to be the quickest typist I've ever seen. He's brand new and already up to 4,400 posts--lol.

On this topic specifically ... I listen to a program called RadioLab from WNYC. It is available as a podcast from iTunes. I am backlogged about 8 months, so check the April-May-June 2011 list ... I just heard an episode about artificial intelligence wherein a guy goes to a an online dating service and finds out after a few days that he has been chatting with a robot. Worth a listen ... at least this segment. Maybe you are the same? Except for the vacations you take ;-) Maybe a maintenance upgrade ?
[EDIT/ADD] Oh, here you go ... http://www.radiolab.org/2011/may/31/

And then again he HAS TO reply to each and every post, almost i.e., and in whatever inconsequential mamner, but he HAS TO.

Just to be clear ... are you talking about me ... in this case?
[EDIT] I do not like to delete comments when wrong, what is done is done. So ignore and see the later comments for clarifications.

JC, I can't address your concerns over the FII, as I know nothing about that, and I am 100% TA.
As far as global concerns go, everyone has them. Just look at DJIA, as it is near an all-time high. US's economy is a mess. Unemployment had skyrocketed, etc, etc. You would think the DJIA would have been moving in the opposite direction, which is why I pay no attention to the FA's.

After saying all that, I do have a good handle on the TA's, so let me show you around my world a little bit. Go back to post# 7044. You will notice a red DOWN TL. hat was drawn off the weekly. A clean break of a TL requires a correction, and that is what has started as of Wednesday. The correction should hit at least 5337, as that was the point of the TL break. Any dip lower should be contained at 5255 which is the current level of the TL. After this correction is finished, then we should see a fresh new peak made.
Thanks alot :) cheers:)

Someone sent me the following PM. I figure it is better to answer these Q's openly, so someone else might get the benefit"
"Hi Paul.

Nifty just shy of hitting your TL @ 5426 (hit 5428) and now showing some support there..how far can the TL make nifty go up? thanks in advance."

The TL does not figure to hold. There is too much pressure from the higher TF's, and it has to correct to the weekly TL, so the target to the downside remains the minimum 5327.
