And some of these Red-instances are deep !
Can demolish accounts that are not traded with Stop Losses !
I got the data at capitalmind and analysed the dates mentioned and cuts. One common phenomenon was the markets took everyone high up, before dropping badly in all these red instances.

So enjoy the up ride till it lasts this time :)

Octobers have the tendency to be bearish, and in some cases very bearish, months. It is likely that early-on the market makers are bullish to fatten the cattle.
I concur.

I will be quick to book profit at the next strong resistance on the Daily Timeframe. May not wait for the reversal to kick-in.

If an economy, world-wide, is going through difficult or turbulent times then its bourses should be wary of the October-Factor. With that said, I would not be counting on this rally however, big or small, to sustain beyond the second week of this month!

This doesn't mean that I will be blindly shorting at some Magic-Level. If my system throws a Shorting Signal I will increase a lot or two in position size.
Please check :
October 2010 : OHLC : 4870, 5402,4725,5347
Sep had closed at 4934 !

I guess, one could wrap that around logic :)

2009 to 2012, for those 4 years, the economic scenario was very positive and upbeat. But, in 2008 the mood was very different. Funds were falling over each other to exit. October 2008 monthly bar has a range of 1747 Points (Nifty, not Sensex :)

Will 2013 be similar? Can't say. Hope there is no such trigger.

Amit, I mentioned 2010 figures only because you said : October has tendency to be bearish ! :p

SAR hit. Short Position duly exited at 5921.40; There was a 10 odd point slippage. The profit from the last trade was 125 pts.

Long Position Entry order placed at 5910.50; SL is placed as a market order at 5859.40;
Holding the Long positions as is... with just an addition of one single lot of adds at around 5960 NF.

I am trying hard to convince myself over Adds.
I don't need em, but want em. I think I might be able to pull it off.

Will surely sell same number of Oct ATM CALLS as I have NFs, but only when Spot reaches 6100.

The Entire Power sector, comprising of Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Trading and Power related Infrastructure, and the Banks lending to these operations will see damage. ICICI has hit the panic button and it is out in the news!

I will be interested in booking profits as prices head up, that is if at all they do.
