How many gap up points in nifty for every 100 points dow up ? or vice versa. I don't know the calculations, do u know ?

once my friend told me we have 39% 100 point gap up,gap down opening on nifty... 45 % something 50 points gap opening yearly,i couldnt confirm with actual data,
in my quest of gap up/down problem, i found pair trading bit good( though brokerage savvy )

I am holding 4200 puts in large number since yesterday morning,and then markets rallied combination of rkj's words almost sank my heart and trading account...
have a little hope now,after seeing bearish views in most threads.....else my account will be wiped out pretty soon...
Should have kept a stop loss but all the medication has made me think crazy....
can you guys advice me please...This is what i can see right now,though this is completely different from what i saw on the charts yesterday....plz advice

Hedge ur position (bet) otherwise maintain strict stop loss.

You are very senior than me here but will stil advise you to never trade without stop loss untill and unless u are master like Dada in hedging your positions . And I saw your many posts on FIBO levels than you must be knowing that according to FIBBO if NIFTY SPOT closes above 4268 than next target is 4379 and 4395 .

Please take care of your position if nifty spot manages to close above 4268

thanks and yes thing about stop loss agree with u after all the pain,learnt it the hard way...
thing is on intraday,made money constantly on gann,this time i plotted it wrong and paying a heavy price,now i dont have much option...

Really sad to hear that you are in losses. Even last time i bought a fut lot at 4460 and within nextday nifty tanked heavily. My heart said dont sell , i couldnt sleep the whole night thinking about nightmares if nifty went below 4000 , al my investement would be wiped off. Then the next day i listened to my mind and sold off my lot at 4300 my SL , You know it takes a lot to book loss in any position we are overly optimistic , ater that nifty went below even 3900. PLZ FOLLOW SL , now i have stopped futures i am trading in options now OTM options with less prem arnd 30-40 and i have nearly recvd my losses.
I just see global and mkt trend and the take positions with min risk , dont take high risk high reward positions , i dont want to take positions because of which i cant even sleep properly. Every trader passes thru this bad phase but cheer up man try to recover your losses slowly by using your mind , i am sure you are 1000 times experienced than me.

HAHA!!
Nahi yaar!!! Till now aisi tragedy nahi hui mere saath. I take OTM as in our mkts there are big movements , if i take 4400 pay more prem mkts close below that i lose money and if i take 4600ce and mkts close that then also i lose money its better i lose less money. Would never try my hand at futures now until mkts stabilise ,someone rightly pointed out that its double edged sword and i thought he was joking. Even in 1 minifty i can lose 85k if nifty becomes 0 , in options the prem i pay max is 8k so i feel safe and sleep peacefully like a kumbhakarna.

My midterm exms have ended and now for 4 days i am in a mood to enjoy till schools restart , hope mkts dont spoil the mood.
