Hi Alex,

Which site gives you these VIX and PCR charts?

Also, where does one get authentic data on VIX and PCR?

Yash

In above chart oi pcr gone below 0.80 first time after oct at that time within few days we tested 2200 nifty levels.
adx is rising up & now its above 20 ( not posted the chart ) it means market going to be in a trend ( which is down ) sooner than later, at such times i prefer to stay away or hedge my written options.
VIX is showing no signs of cooling off, adx of vix never gone below 25 & currently its on 30 and vix's trend is up
so buckle up guys & keep an eye on saint's flow threads it seems to be the flavor of winter/autumn as there wd be less whipsaws and most would be one way moves

Alex, thank you so much for the very informative post...but had a question regarding the time frame of within few days...after looking at your charts, it seems that when oi pcr went below in 0.80 in oct, it took a week or so before we tested the lows...

any way, you can quantify the price vs. oi pcr vs. time frame when oi pcr first went down below 0.80 in oct? all im trying to get to is that how long should i hold onto my shorts before we actually get into a free fall like oct, if the situtation actually arrives...
yes rishi in oct oi pcr gone down first then after week market gone down to 2200, oi pcr n its linkage with price action is short term ( short term = one month) so in one month we may expect downhill but exact days/weeks ? i yet to master that much to tell you.
P.S. OI PCR IS TRADING AT 0.83 REAL TIME

Hi,
here is ACD system applied on 10-min opening range on NF.
(applied on todays trading)

Setup:
-------
Candle size is choosen as 2.5 min, so first 4 candle will make opening range. Here OR cames 2704-2688 (16 points). In deciding the A( or C) value these should be kept in mind:

a) Running daily ATR(10 period) on previous days, its approx 100-110 points since last 2-3 days. This value is "theaoritical possible" range of a day ( high-low). Because of day trade, if 10-min OR ( here 16 points) consume too much value from daily ATR ( say more than 25-30% of daily ATR) than trade generated may not be so efficient/profitable. After all trade signal will be valid beyound OR+(A or C value) for long and OR-(A or C value) for short.
Total OR+-(A or C) value should not run away of 40% of daily ATR and a day should be totally avoided if it runs away 60-70%.

b)"10-min bar ATR(10 bar)" on NF roughly ranges as
10-14 points as normal
16-20 points as extreme.
Given the nature of volatility of NF , whole "10-min bar ATR" value should be chosen as A or C value ( contrary to fraction as in Weekly Setup). So for sake of simplicity A or C values are 10 ponits here comes
2678( 2688-10) and 2714(2704+10).

c) once NF moves beyond these limits, trade exacution validity comes only if it continuously traded belyoud that limit for half time of OR -- here 5-min ( 2 complete candle of 2.5 min)

Exacution:
----------

After validation , trade can be exacuted in conjunction to other indicator.
Here ROC is used.

Errata : Above SL in figure is actully high of OR i.e. 2704, it has mistakely drawn to 2714 by me. please correct.
[Note : method discussed above is fully based on Sir Mark Fishers ACD system, only minor tweak is done for personal comfort.]

great dumdum, nice gesture to go further n discuss with chart if i get it clear then one doubt nagging me, wht u do when market moves up above opening range as u said say 2714 and we wait for 5 min to complete to see it sustain above 2714 and suppose market made gradient vertical move in those waiting period of 5 mins? what if market jumped 30/40 points within that waiting period of 5 min ? then where we exactly enter? or we skip the trade totally ?
also is this strategy specially for range bound market ?

See if market moves above 2714 ( i think you pointing the case of moving upward without going down, rt ?), sustained for 5-min so bias should be bullish and you have A-up successful ( as by M. fisher). Now SL for longs would be lower range of OR ( 2688, where bias is assumed neutral w.r.t long). Entry for long "can be" initiated immediatly with SL in mind, but it can be delyed for cheaper price ( in long) as in above chart after getting successful A-down , a wait-n-watch approach ( it was my comfort) was taken because of ROC was in upmove at A-down position time. later when NF rises and comes back, ROC started falling, then actual trade in short side exacuted.
Vertical gradient and jumps in prices are practically unmanageble, so better to avoid, because 30-40 points vertical rise or jump from your said A-ups ,might consume more than 60%( approx. 20 points OR + 10 or 14 as A or C value + 30/40 point jump) of daily ATR, so position may not be efficient/profitable.
But its up to trader's choice to enter or to wait for cooling. May be trader like to do opposite after hefty rise--what one can say?

Fund managing is also one part of trading. If you are able to manage your funds, you are able to make good money from this market.
jeff u mean if someone manage his fund better he can be a good trader:confused:
I dont think so ,fund managing and making good money are two different things and need lots of qualities
Managing funds just need accounting and some basic knowledge and making good money:eek::eek:Oh my my
