i m expecting this short term downtrend taking a breather (or may even turn up) this week...
some good technical/chartical strong supports are nearby (as mentioned in early morning's post)...

but there are some more non-technical reasons:
1. Generally, Tuesday is the trend-changing day for the week ahead
2. If today & tomorrow nifty closes in red, then it will result in continuous 5 days of red closings. History says that nifty has rarely been in red for more than 5 continuous days... (actually, not many know that NIFTY is actually a woman...;) )

You might be right on Nifty not closing in Red for more than 5 continous days but that doesnt mean that day 6 or 7 will be days with significant upward movements..we could still see a temporary halt in the downtrend (and not a up move) and then the downward fall could resume as well..

dear sunil,
i am not as experienced as most of you nor am i perfect in reading charts, but something tells me we cannot afford to close below 4400.....
we have less than 10 trading sessions for expiryand gone up quite a bit this month, profit booking might start once we close below 4400(i,e if we close below 4400)
thanks:)
